[ Oh look, it's that Bat girl again. Her expression and posture are perfectly serious, though there's an unmistakeable flush to her cheeks. She wouldn't be doing this at all if she wasn't completely mortified by her behavior of the last week and desperate to set the record straight. She has a reputation to uphold, you know. A legacy reputation. That's way more important than her own embarrassment. ]

First off, thanks to everyone who helped with investigations. A thorough sweep says the shadow creatures are gone without a trace. Natives deny any knowledge that they were ever here. I couldn't persuade them to change their minds. [ The way she says 'persuade' definitely implies threats of physical violence. ]

Known effects include psychic interference, temporary empathic healing abilities, sudden onset depression, flashbacks, and accelerated contact withdrawal. [ Yes she wrote out a list of the best sounding ways to describe the symptoms, don't judge her. ] So if you had any of those and you were worried, don't be. The effects seem to have faded with our creepy visitors.

Obviously we don't have any answers, so the investigation's not over. [ In for a penny, in for a pound. ] If anyone was able to glean anything solid by way of information from all this, please let me know. It may be important to helping all of us get out of here.

[ She shuts off the feed, sense of pride restored. ]

Okay, I've had it about up to here with this crap.

[ The masked blonde does not indicate where exactly 'here' is, but she does glare at the camera and take absolutely no notice of the people behind her giving her odd looks. Screw off, she needs to be Batgirl sometimes. Her assumed Standard American accent, though somewhat slurred by her aggravation, still manages to hide the New Jersey in her voice fairly well. ]

Shadows. Voices. I want to know who's heard and-or seen them, what's been tried to make them go away, and whether or not anyone has been hurt by them. If this is anything like the temperature shenanigans of last month it's only going to get worse, and our generous kidnappers haven't said a word.

[ And with a note of finality, as she's sure people are wondering what the hell she's wearing and why: ]

[the entry starts with Draco suddenly leaning away from the stationary screen, looking relatively bewildered—and not looking at the camera, because he doesn't know what that is or where to find it. he leans back forward, observing the screen, and gives it an uncertain little tap. he mumbles, a little.]

[he rolls his eyes and sighs.]

Feel like a sodding idiot... Well, here goes.

[and, unsure if this is properly doing its thing or not, Draco just hopes that it's working so that he's not literally talking to a wall. Draco seems to decide looking at the screen is probably the best course of action, as he talks—so to those viewing him, his eyecontact isn't direct, but hey, it's not too off!]

Some of you've already met me; my name is Draco Malfoy. I'm a somewhat recent arrival for this embarrassment of a city.

[and, as is characteristic of his house, Draco gets straight to business.]

I heard this was probably the easiest way to contact people conveniently, since there's no other option. I'm looking for a partner—someone to rely on when I start to get ill.

[he prays people get his meaning.]

That said, besides obviously helping the health of whoever steps up to the task, you won't be doing this for nothing. I'm a wizard—I know magical abilities aren't incredibly uncommon around here, but there's a fair bit of magic that can be incredibly convenient in the—[Draco half scowls, half winces,] domestic scheme of things, I guess...

Anyway—a simple exchange of information, such as where we're living or places we frequent, and trust enough to find one another as necessary is all I ask.

[Those checking the video feed can tell America is running through the streets. If they're currently in District 2 they might see him run by. He doesn't look at all cheerful like usual.]

I'm sending out this message in case something happens to me. I'm heading again to the government headquarters and this time they better have answers. I agreed to do what I could to help this city, but I can't sit around and act like they haven't been sneaky after what I discovered this morning.

PART 2- OCTOBER 8

[What had become of America's attempt to get answers? He didn't disappear at all between the end of the month and now. It seemed that somewhere in the chaos he had collapsed for unexplained reasons. At last, over a week later, he wakes in a hospital bed and greets Saeng Seong again. Has he had any visitors during his coma?]

[As much as he wanted to find out the mystery of the city, he was disappointed to wake up in the Saeng Seong hospital and not back home. Still groggy and not at all with his wits about him, he sends out a video feed on the network.]

Can someone tell me what that date is? How long have I been out? Last thing I remember I was at the government building.

[He ends the video feed and starts to look around the room for any sign of familiar faces.]

...It is interesting to see that our efforts do significantly alter the city. If you have not been to the new district yet, I would recommend it. It is an enjoyable walk.

However...is it not curious that the city has places that clearly have been inhabited before, yet are inaccessible - even to the natives - now? Before our arrival here, how were these areas powered? Why has it changed so that we must be the power source?

...there is also an animal shelter there. I wonder if the animals here are restricted by the energy problem, as well...

Yeaaaaaah so holing up in my new place maybe wasn't such a good idea. Didn't think this being sick thing from not touching would creep up on you so suddenly. Figured taking a nap and sleeping in would take the edge off but- Heh.

[He looked like he was hung over, with his hair mussed up with sweat against his forehead. Tired and squinty eyes despite how much he's slept since he'd gotten here. ]

These natives have taken us hostage and cursed us with their own illness, forcing us to help them or risk becoming unnaturally ill...and you go out and celebrate with them? [The feed opens to Irene sitting in her office - there's a bit of sun coming in the window behind her and spreading across the desk, making the whole room seem warm and cheery.]

Hello! For those of you that I didn't meet on the first day, my name is Irene, and I'm the city's liaison to the arrivals from other worlds. It's a pleasure to meet you!

First of all, I'd like to thank everyone for their hard work. It hasn't even been a month, and the city's energy levels are already picking up. Because of that, we expect to be able to re-energize and open the Third District to visitors soon.

But before we can do that, there's a few things that need to be done. I'm posting today to ask for volunteers to help power a number of generators throughout the district, which will then activate and negate the draining effect that is presently still active. There's three large generators and a number of smaller ones. If you are in good health and would like to participate, please gather at the bridges between Districts 2 and 3 early Sunday afternoon.

I'll also answer any questions you have about the operation at this time. Thank you again for all your help.

[She folds her hands at the bottom of the screen, waiting.]

There's this great classic movie called King Kong that apparently nobody has heard of because as it turns out I really am in another universe and not just dreaming or high as a kite.
