[ Oh look, it's that Bat girl again. Her expression and posture are perfectly serious, though there's an unmistakeable flush to her cheeks. She wouldn't be doing this at all if she wasn't completely mortified by her behavior of the last week and desperate to set the record straight. She has a reputation to uphold, you know. A legacy reputation. That's way more important than her own embarrassment. ]

First off, thanks to everyone who helped with investigations. A thorough sweep says the shadow creatures are gone without a trace. Natives deny any knowledge that they were ever here. I couldn't persuade them to change their minds. [ The way she says 'persuade' definitely implies threats of physical violence. ]

Known effects include psychic interference, temporary empathic healing abilities, sudden onset depression, flashbacks, and accelerated contact withdrawal. [ Yes she wrote out a list of the best sounding ways to describe the symptoms, don't judge her. ] So if you had any of those and you were worried, don't be. The effects seem to have faded with our creepy visitors.

Obviously we don't have any answers, so the investigation's not over. [ In for a penny, in for a pound. ] If anyone was able to glean anything solid by way of information from all this, please let me know. It may be important to helping all of us get out of here.

[ She shuts off the feed, sense of pride restored. ]

I'd thought about why the people around here don't seem to give a damn or notice. They're kinda off in their own little world, aren't they? Maybe programmed not to notice. Sounds like a conspiracy but my instinct is to keep this info handy, because when the next thing comes, we might start to see a pattern here.

[ Yeah, they do seem to be gone. He's been going around the city looking for them too but he couldn't find anything.. but he didn't ask of asking the locals yet, so that's news to him. ]

Do you think they're denying it or that they just never could see it to begin with?

Hard to say. It's so widespread that either they really don't know or they're all involved in whatever this is.

.. If the entire city is involved in this, then any ways of trying to get out of here or getting more information might be even harder to accomplish. [ That's a pretty big number of potential enemies, after all. ]

[Well, at least he looks a bit better, now. Not so much with the exhaustion and the hollowed eyes and the inability to breathe. Sure, he still looks a little worn around the edges, but he's working on it. Reticence is a tough thing to break.]

It may be what they call 'a coverup.' [This many years of stalking watching FBI agents has, at least, made him familiar with the concept, not to mention the secrecy practices of his own people.] The townspeople may have been deliberately misinformed by an authority.

[He looks down, apparently at something offscreen.] There may be those among us who are willing to aid in the construction of an interdimensional communication device without the aid of the native scientific community.

[ She can't help but crack a smile at the way he says 'coverup'. So cute. ]

I thought of that. Do you have the scientific know-how? I don't know of anyone with that sort of knowledge, though I do know a tech geek who would be thrilled to help out.

[At her question he nods once.] I do. I have constructed similar devices before. [A beat] Though I will not refuse help if it is offered.

Have you heard any word on how long the symptoms continued after the spirits disappeared. I uh ran into one but I'm not so sure all the symptoms have gone away.

[He covers his mouth with a hand and looks aside. As much as he's been bothered by a problem he can't bring himself to say he needs help so easily.]
