There isn't much fanfare in this posting, even with the official notice on the top. Actually, there's something almost stark in its simplicity. Just basic text and a blinking cursor on a black background, that slowly loads up into a full message:

Local and guest alike.

Several months ago the city experienced a disruption in the form of a transmission hacking of an official feed; as many of you reading this are aware. We have since been reviewing the data and running decryption on the hijacking's interference, and have come to a conclusion on a location of the signal.

It is outside of the city walls, which now makes it necessary for us to enlist the help of those called to the city.

Be advised that the person is an unknown factor, and likely to be dangerous. In addition, the environment outside is hazardous as well, and should be approached with caution. Because of this risk, volunteers will be rewarded for their efforts. They will also be the first on the scene with uncovering answers that we all doubtless wish to discover.

Representatives from their respective departments will be available to answer questions, and impart necessary information. Given the nature of this task, there may be additional requests granted. However, they are only requests. The first and major goal in this is gathering information.

Fare you well, and may the Twins guard you while afield.

Unfortunately, we don't know exactly what kind of monsters are outside the walls. That's why we're asking everyone to be as careful as possible.

[That doesn't do much to assuage his fears, sadly. He hates being reminded that he can't really do much in this kind of situation. The most he can do is ask about things...]

Do you have any idea what everyone would be looking for as far as clues?

Any evidence of how the network was hacked and where exactly from would be useful, but best case scenario would be finding out where this person is working from, as well as any other information that can be obtained without getting their attention.

So some kind of radio equipment would be the ideal. [The technology and magic here probably means it could be portable and thus easily hidden.]

I don't guess any of you have a concrete idea of who might be behind it or why?

No, we don't.

[As he expected. He's laughing to himself and he's not entirely sure why. Maybe he's just so tired of secrets it's starting to be funny.]

I see. Is there anything that needs to be done inside the city while they're out, or does your staff have things covered?

Before everyone leaves we could use some extra help distributing information, actually. City officials are preparing pamphlets with a map and basic safety reminders for people interested in volunteering, and any help making sure that they reach as many people as possible would be appreciated. But once they're outside the city, all we can do is wait.

[Could it be? Something he can do?]

Where would people who want to help distribute them go to do so? [He can stand at a gate and hand out important papers. It's something, damn it.]

Well, last time I was updated, the pamphlets were being printed tonight and they will be ready tomorrow morning. Go to the Welcome Center then and tell them that you want to help. You can hand them out anytime between then and when everyone leaves.

Alright. Thank you. I'll make sure to do that. I know people are probably eager to search, but everyone should be as informed as they can before they go.

We also need more people keeping tabs with people on the outside, actually. With how many people seem interested, Victor and I can't do it all. In fact we'll be working on making sure the lines stay stable.

So people to keep in touch with those outside the walls in order to make sure no one needs help or is left behind? [Sounds reasonable. This is a little more dangerous that a field trip, after all.]

Right. The more people who can, the better.

Would we need to do or bring anything in particular beforehand, or just to show up?

[He has his own phone, but he figures there might be more specialized equipment for talking with people outside the city...]

Just show up. Everything will be ready to go and (hopefully) user-friendly.
