This is Lightning-- I work at the chocobo barn. [Actually, it's a little obvious, with the small bright red feather in her pink hair.] I heard there was another nest of eggs while I was away, and some people have already claimed them.

If you're one of the owners of the chicks from whatever batch, or you just own one of the chocobos in the barn, let me know, so I can keep track of how many birds we have here, and who they're with. [And so she wont glare at you suspiciously if she sees you visit the barn or wander around with a chick.]

Ah... you'll forgive me, Lightning; the newer clutch has yet to fully grow, else I would have told you to expect them. I would expect them to stay in their fosters' care for another week or so.

I pray Boco and Persephone, at least, have not given you trouble? [Knowing the latter's habit of 'preening' her caretakers Ramza had to wonder if the feather in Lightning's hair was hers...]

Gawkers? I suppose not everyone's seen a Chocobo before, but I sometimes wonder if we've just as many who have in recent times.

Chocobos are strong enough to carry people and things around, and run as fast as they can. Cant do that if they're too thin to take your weight.

I know someone back home who has a chocobo chick. It's almost as large as my fist or maybe a little smaller[and Lightning's a pretty petite lady despite her strength] but the adults in my world grow up well over seven feet. Ten feet give or take, depending on their breed. He'll be fine.

[She's not so sure about the measurements of chocobos, but she just knows they're all tall and strong.]

No. I'm just from another world that has chocobos too.

So far? Three. All in all? Who knows. There are many different worlds after all.

[Pauses to think about that. She's not all-too good at this, but she's making her best guess.] The ones in my world can carry a human and their cargo with no problem. I don't know how these can handle someone of your size though.

Yeah, that's what I'm worried about. How much cargo does someone usually have on them on a chocobo?

[She kind of doubts they'd be carrying more than twice their own weight, and she knows it's probably not feasible as she says it. Probably not raising this bird as a mount, in the end.]

The name's Gold! And my girl's a red Chocobo by the name of Chobo. She's got the same habit her mom's got of preenin' people that're her family. Nice t'meetcha.

[Keeping large animals is Gold's forte, so he's usually kept her at home since it's just the second floor. She gets plenty of exercise though! And goes to visit the barn! So.]
