[This is the first time that Steve is making a video like this to everyone, but he has used this feature when talking to others on this network at least. So, he doesn't look too awkward as he talks into it.]

Know that this is a bit late, but wanted to thank the people who gave me these items for Christmas. [He shows a rather famous red, white and blue circular shield and a Captain America costume that was used during the USO tours.]

It's real thoughtful of you. [He smiles a little, completely honest in his words.] However, the outfit is a bit too uh- big for me. Couldn't get it on without drowning in it, to be honest. So I'm wondering if anyone wants it, don't have much of a use for it myself and I wouldn't want it to go to waste.

[He looks down at the shield for a moment, feeling somewhat attached to it despite himself.] I'm keepin' the shield though, never know when something like this could come in handy...

[ooc: Feel free to fourth wall him or point out that those are Captain America stuff. Tony has already spilled the beans about it.]

[ ... Huh. Josuke's just staring at the suit. Not because he knows about Captain America stuff - not at all, honestly - but probably more since it looks like it must be special somehow. ]

Is that what people wear back where you come from? [ Says the guy who's wearing a sailor uniform for no apparent reason, but hey.. ]

Not normally, hope that we dress a little more subtle than this. [Not that he didn't enjoy being patriotic when the time calls for it, but wearing red, white, and blue everyday is a bit too much even for him. And tights.]

This costume seems more of something that we would wear for propaganda or star in some sort of show. It is my country's colors.

[curiously:] Is it a special kind of outfit?

"You're...You're sure you don't want it?"

[It's such a nice looking suit, too. Looks downright super, in fact...And that in turn sparks a question and an idea in M'gann's head.]

"Do you have an idea of why someone might have gotten it for you?"

I think so? Definitely looks and feels custom made. [Steve's not quite sure who made this and gave it to him of all people.] More of a stage outfit than something someone would wear on a daily basis. Least it's colorful though.

Not that I don't like it, but I doubt I'll be able to fit something like this either. Already past the stage of sudden growth spurts too.

[He's not too upset about it though.]

That's what I was wondering. Seems a little strange that they gave me things I haven't seen before- can't even fit. But it's the thought that counts, right? [Or maybe it has to do with something with his future... Tony always mentions that around him. Steve frowns a little as he thought about it, momentarily forgetting that he's on video.]

Shame it doesn't fit, then. Maybe you could get one more to your liking made? One less. [um.] Costumey.

I'm sure whomever sent it to you thought you would look great.

Got my own, thanks. But I might see if I can steal a design feature, there.

[It looks well without a cape. He hates wearing a cape.]

Maybe you'll grow into them. I know my knees start getting cramped every other year or so.

"Maybe...It could get tailored down?"

[She sounds doubtful about it, though. And either way, such a project is well outside of her capacity to make funny holiday costumes, or sew up tears in clothing. Which is a shame because it IS very pretty; almost like something Superman might wear, in fact.]

"R-right. But I guess that is sort of odd if you've never seen it before; I know my gifts, at least."

[By contrast, she can't help but smile...But his expression doesn't escape her notice.]

"Um...You okay? Something on your mind?"

Maybe. But to be honest, I prefer clothes that aren't as showy. I like going around with simple colors and design. [He just doesn't want to attract too much attention.]

I really appreciate that they gave me a gift though, they definitely didn't have to. And the shield works great so far, not too heavy despite its size.

Wanna add a cowl to your uniform? Maybe with some wings that go on top. [He's not sure why there are head wings on this outfit, but guess it's just the design.]

Think I'll need more than just a few growth spurts to fill this out. The arm sleeves alone are twice the size of my arms.

Seems like it would be a lot of work. So I don't mind giving this costume to someone else if they really want it.

[He snaps out of it when M'gann asks about him.] Oh! Yes, I'm okay. Just... wondering if it's possible that they brought me something that's from my um, future. [If he really becomes Captain America, the outfit really seems to reflect that type of name. Does that mean he wears a lot of tights in the future?] Strange as that sounds.

Oh. I get it. [ He slowly nods. ] It's like if I would paint a big red dot on my shirt.

[ Not entirely the same, since his outfit isn't as over the top as that costume, but it's the closest he can get.. ]

Do they have shows with people dressed in your country's colors where you come from? I've never seen one of those.

[Snickers derisively.]

Ew. No. Cowls are awful. Sweaty. And you have to turn your head an extra, like, twenty degrees if you want any kind of peripheral vision, if it's too bulky.

[He tilts his head at that.]

It's not impossible. I mean, you're a little old to get started. But it's not impossible.

Something like that.

[Steve thinks it's close enough to the point at any rate.]

Yeah, they've been real popular lately. With the war goin' on, they're used to encourage people to support our country and troops as much as possible.

Haven't thought of it that way... sounds like it can be disadvantageous in battle. [Although Steve doesn't think he'll be wearing cowls in battle anyway, they do have helmets and such in the war.]

Guess I could start by eating more protein, huh?

How odd for you to get something that doesn't seem to be yours. But they did retrieve two things I'd had before that I'd left behind when I was traveling...

I suppose their methods of getting us those presents are as mysterious as the methods they used to bring us here.

I thought it would be normal for people to support their country during a war. [ Granted, Josuke doesn't have much knowledge of recent happenings - he's thinking way back, as in centuries back in time. ]

That's why people join the army too, right? To fight for their country and support it.

Nothing's a disadvantage if you train yourself to compensate.

[Rote recitation, entirely inflectionless; he's heard that one many times before.]

Just... sweaty.

[He throws his cape back off his shoulders, giving Steve a nod of assent.]

Light exercise, too. Gotta give your body something to do with that extra protein. Pull-ups or something.

[Note that his background as a lifelong circus acrobat and veteran crimefighter skews his perspective of "light."]

Yes, a trophy I won shortly before I arrived here, and a doll I kept in my childhood.

But your gifts--are they completely unfamiliar to you?

Does it have...some kind of meaning? The outfit and the shield.

Some don't support war, for whatever reasons they have. But it's true that not all wars are fought for good reasons.[Although Steve thinks that joining World War II is the right thing to do.]

A lot of people do. I joined because I wanna stop the bullies out there.

If I may ask, how long have you been training? And worked as a superhero?

[He looks pretty young, but he definitely sounds experienced.]

Right. If I ever fit the costume some day, I'll show you. Cowl and all.

"No, no! It...Doesn't really sound too strange, actually? This place seems to do...Weird things when it comes to time."

[That's the best way she can put it, not being an expert in such things like Wally might be.

Still, after saying that she's able to shake her head while still giving a friendly smile.]

"No, I probably wouldn't need it. And I don't know if any of my friends would want to wear that...But I think it looks neat; sort of reminds me of one of my costumes!"

[And sure enough, as she speaks there's a slight hum that can just be heard over the speakers, as her costume shifts to white, red and blue. Complete with a little gold ornamentation on the collar of her cape!]
