[This is the first time that Steve is making a video like this to everyone, but he has used this feature when talking to others on this network at least. So, he doesn't look too awkward as he talks into it.]
Know that this is a bit late, but wanted to thank the people who gave me these items for Christmas. [He shows a rather famous red, white and blue circular shield and a Captain America costume that was used during the USO tours.]
It's real thoughtful of you. [He smiles a little, completely honest in his words.] However, the outfit is a bit too uh- big for me. Couldn't get it on without drowning in it, to be honest. So I'm wondering if anyone wants it, don't have much of a use for it myself and I wouldn't want it to go to waste.
[He looks down at the shield for a moment, feeling somewhat attached to it despite himself.] I'm keepin' the shield though, never know when something like this could come in handy...
[ooc: Feel free to fourth wall him or point out that those are Captain America stuff. Tony has already spilled the beans about it.]

[He's not too upset about it though.]
That's what I was wondering. Seems a little strange that they gave me things I haven't seen before- can't even fit. But it's the thought that counts, right? [Or maybe it has to do with something with his future... Tony always mentions that around him. Steve frowns a little as he thought about it, momentarily forgetting that he's on video.]
[She sounds doubtful about it, though. And either way, such a project is well outside of her capacity to make funny holiday costumes, or sew up tears in clothing. Which is a shame because it IS very pretty; almost like something Superman might wear, in fact.]
"R-right. But I guess that is sort of odd if you've never seen it before; I know my gifts, at least."
[By contrast, she can't help but smile...But his expression doesn't escape her notice.]
"Um...You okay? Something on your mind?"
[He snaps out of it when M'gann asks about him.] Oh! Yes, I'm okay. Just... wondering if it's possible that they brought me something that's from my um, future. [If he really becomes Captain America, the outfit really seems to reflect that type of name. Does that mean he wears a lot of tights in the future?] Strange as that sounds.
[That's the best way she can put it, not being an expert in such things like Wally might be.
Still, after saying that she's able to shake her head while still giving a friendly smile.]
"No, I probably wouldn't need it. And I don't know if any of my friends would want to wear that...But I think it looks neat; sort of reminds me of one of my costumes!"
[And sure enough, as she speaks there's a slight hum that can just be heard over the speakers, as her costume shifts to white, red and blue. Complete with a little gold ornamentation on the collar of her cape!]
[Aaand Steve definitely wasn't expecting that. He looks in awe as her colors change right before his eyes. That is some neat trick.] Wow. Th-that's amazing. How did you do that?
[M'gann nods as she speaks, before glancing down at her costume with a smile. She holds her hands out, just to show off the details of her outfit a little bit more. (As far as she's concerned, she's allowed to be a little proud of this. She made it up...Mostly by herself! With her uncle and mentor offering a few pointers on the design.)]
"Well, my costume is made out of an organic material that's available on my planet. So, it responds to my mental commands! If I concentrate on what I want my outfit to look like, I can usually mold the shape without much problem."
[Steve's met aliens and lives in a city powered by touch, so he just has to keep an open mind about these things... But for now, he smiles a little as he focuses his attention on her costume and explanation of it.]
An organic material that responds to your mental commands... [Geez, that really is amazing. And definitely handy.] So you can change your outfit into anything you want?
[...Though, there has been the odd time M'gann has bought shoes or a jacket, just for that wonderful sensation of participating in REAL Earth-Girl shopping!]
"It helps if I have an idea of what I'm morphing my clothing into, though. Like a good clear image! It sort of frees up...Space in my head," [she taps her forehead as she says that.] "To concentrate on getting everything right."
Makes sense. [It would seem harder to change clothes into something that one doesn't have a clear image about.] Is that outfit based on something you've seen before?
[She glances over herself again.]
"Those colors looked pretty popular on costumes, and I like the blue and red a lot. So that helped me decide on the colors. And the rest of it was since a lot of heroes wore capes, and I liked how they looked."
[And how familiar it feels, to have that extra bit of weight along her back. Maybe it's not QUITE like the flap of skin running from arms to body, but it's similar...Though that doesn't get voiced out loud. But she also doesn't check herself from stretching an arm out and letting her cape fall loose to mimic that sensation for a moment.
It's a harmless enough gesture, right?]
Not much of a critic on fashion, but I think it looks great on you. The cape kinda gives a heroic look.
[He doesn't think that there's anything too strange about the gesture. Not enough to really ask about it.]
[...Granted, she might be a bit biased in that opinion. She still continues with complete enthusiasm, and almost twirls from the compliment her costume gets.]
"Thanks! My uncle is part of the League and...He gave me a few pointers. And I sort of got the idea of using a cape based off of his costume."
[M'gann glances away at the other question, looking unsure.]
"I don't really know, actually...My first big goal was to reach Earth. And then join the team I'm on now and be a good member on that; I haven't really thought much about joining the League, yet."
[It shouldn't hurt to talk about the League, right? Steve seems like a nice enough person, and it's not like she's imparting the secret codes to the zeta-beams or anything. Besides, it's nice to talk about them...And maybe do a little bit of gushing.]
"They've been at this for longer then I have...Or most of the others in my team. And so they know how to handle things a little better, and have a bigger presence with the public."
[Despite saying all of this, she doesn't sound the least bit bitter about it. Small scale approval with the team and her mentors is one thing; mass public attention is something else entirely, and not something M'gann is sure she's ready for. Or wants all that much.]
Secret identities still a big thing too? Can imagine that being out in the open would be hectic even for a superhero.
Re: [video]
[She catches herself, shaking her head.]
"Th-that is, if you weren't already born with one?"
[She goes a little red in the face, though this time she has some luck with keeping it down. Sometimes the notion of adopting a superhero identity instead of the other way around still trips her up...Even if that's the way it works for most of her teammates.]
[She looks down at her fingers for a moment, glancing over the green skin as she considers her abilities.]
"Though I train as much as I can, so I can be good at using them. I guess it's just different, when I'm being a normal Earth-girl and not using any of my powers."
[Seriously, how do people manage to communicate easily WITHOUT telepathy? It's still confusing for her and going by this conversation, she's sure she still hasn't gotten it right.]
How has it been- um, adapting to be a normal Earth-girl? Hope people don't give you a hard time about it... [Not that Steve's the best in talking to people either at times.]
Re: [video]
[That still feel a little awkward to think back on. It helps that the teammate she has in Saeng Seong is used to the whole telepathy thing now, of course.]
"But I like being on Earth, and being with other people from Earth. It...It's nice. Really nice."
[And a MASSIVE improvement from Mars.]
[Steve was beaten up a lot because he couldn't keep his mouth shut when he could have. But he always had trouble with that.]
But I'm glad to hear it. Us earthlings are being at least a little accommodating.
[She's being outspoken, M'gann knows...But she can't help getting vocal about this. At least it's an excitable, enthusiastic outburst, though.]
"I've gotten to learn so much about Earth since arriving; school, and cheerleading, and cooking, and even some shopping! I- Like I said, I like Earth."
[Remembering herself, she also glances around at her surroundings off screen.]
"Or someplace close to Earth."
Happy to hear it, know that fitting in school is not always the easiest time. But a friend or two can make the whole difference.
