[This is the first time that Steve is making a video like this to everyone, but he has used this feature when talking to others on this network at least. So, he doesn't look too awkward as he talks into it.]

Know that this is a bit late, but wanted to thank the people who gave me these items for Christmas. [He shows a rather famous red, white and blue circular shield and a Captain America costume that was used during the USO tours.]

It's real thoughtful of you. [He smiles a little, completely honest in his words.] However, the outfit is a bit too uh- big for me. Couldn't get it on without drowning in it, to be honest. So I'm wondering if anyone wants it, don't have much of a use for it myself and I wouldn't want it to go to waste.

[He looks down at the shield for a moment, feeling somewhat attached to it despite himself.] I'm keepin' the shield though, never know when something like this could come in handy...

[ooc: Feel free to fourth wall him or point out that those are Captain America stuff. Tony has already spilled the beans about it.]

[He's figured out by now that the uniform and shield is related to his Captain America outfit.] It was a gift, thought I'd try it on. It'd be rude to not even make an attempt for it.

Vibranium? [He's never heard of that before.] What's that?

Hmm. Yeah. There are so many things wrong with that logic I don't even have time to list them all.

Whatever. The shield. It's made of vibranium. Rarest metal in the world, and you've got all of it. Low vibration, lightweight, Norse god-proof, blah, blah, blah. Cool shit.

[He looks down at his shield again. Steve honestly wasn't expecting for it to be made of something so rare, something valuable.]

And this is the weapon used by Captain America, isn't it?

[Tony is eyeing that shield over the video feed. Vibranium is really cool, okay?]

Weapon, blunt object, frisbee. Maybe mirror, get that George Clooney haircut just right. More like an all-purpose, neanderthal-hitting-stuff-with-a-rock kind of tool.

[One day he'll understand these references. Except not.]

Don't forget the shield part. [Dryly.] But... that's kinda neat. [Yep. The extent of his description of ultra rare vibranium.]

[Believe in yourself, Steve. ~~Tony sure doesn't.~~]

Kinda neat. [Tony makes a face like even saying the words is painful.] My dad must have been really drunk when he gave that to you. Had to have been. [~~When wasn't he drunk?~~]

[Howard Stark gave him this shield? He's a little surprised, but it sorta makes sense if he knows Tony in the future.] Look, I know that I'm not the best with describin' these things, but if I can use it well, that's all that matters.

Define "well."

Protecting others with it. [That's what people mainly do with a shield, right?] Not just gonna toss it around like a toy. [oops]

Pretty sure about that? [says the guy who knows your future ~~and also is an asshole~~]

Being responsible is one trait that I have. [Even if he doesn't have a lot of other traits. Steve prides himself in that at least.]

[Tony could argue that flying a plane into a glacier without considering how the survivor's guilt of people he left behind might screw up the childhoods of certain geniuses was really the opposite of responsible. But a) he may be slightly bitter and b) this Rogers doesn't even remember doing that, and what's the point of bitching at someone for something they haven't done yet?]

Not a kid. [Steve probably takes the statement a lot more harshly than Tony intended. He's been teased a lot for looking like one, so a bit sensitive about the topic.] And I am responsible.

Exactly what a kid would say, but oh well.

And just what do you do that's responsible, huh?

[He chooses not to respond to that first remark.]

I try and do my part like everyone else. [Maybe talking more about the war back home than being here in this city. Also, not mentioning that some part of him wants to prove that he can do it.]
