[This is the first time that Steve is making a video like this to everyone, but he has used this feature when talking to others on this network at least. So, he doesn't look too awkward as he talks into it.]

Know that this is a bit late, but wanted to thank the people who gave me these items for Christmas. [He shows a rather famous red, white and blue circular shield and a Captain America costume that was used during the USO tours.]

It's real thoughtful of you. [He smiles a little, completely honest in his words.] However, the outfit is a bit too uh- big for me. Couldn't get it on without drowning in it, to be honest. So I'm wondering if anyone wants it, don't have much of a use for it myself and I wouldn't want it to go to waste.

[He looks down at the shield for a moment, feeling somewhat attached to it despite himself.] I'm keepin' the shield though, never know when something like this could come in handy...

[ooc: Feel free to fourth wall him or point out that those are Captain America stuff. Tony has already spilled the beans about it.]

He certainly sounds "honest." [Among other things.]

I simply hope he hasn't told you of anything terrible. As useful as the information could be, to have that looming on the horizon...

[Well, it would be pretty awful.]

Some good, some bad. [He tries to look nonchalant about the whole thing.]

Just wanna follow my own beliefs and do what's right. And if that leads me to where he says it will lead me, I won't regret it. [Theoretically at least. It's easy to say that, but Steve still has his uncertainty.]

[She nods in agreement with his mindset, and remains quiet for a moment.] It might be better to act as if you never learned of it at all, but I imagine it would be difficult.

I simply hope you can make it through whatever happens for you. [She's not going to ask about it. It doesn't seem right to her.]

Hard to just forget it all. Unless I suddenly get amnesia when I get back home. [The 'joke' falls flat, if it could even be called that.]

...Thank you, Miss Freya. [He's a bit more afraid than he lets on, so it helps to hear the encouragement. Crashing into ice and waking up in the future, he could only imagine how that is.]

I understand. I only ask that you believe in yourself. [If she had known Burmecia would fall and she could do nothing... it would have been a difficult thing to bear.]

Please, just call me Freya. I believe we are close enough to drop the formalities.

Probably should start from there. [Can't really go into this without believing in himself. At least to some degree.] But I will, try my best at least.

Oh, sure. [He's fine with the request, especially since she considers him to be a friend of sorts.] I'd be happy to.

It feels as if it's been some time since we last spoke. Have you been well? [Last month was pretty eventful for her. Hopefully it was just the good kind for him, if at all.]

I have. Survived this winter so far without getting sick, it's a first for me. [His tone is light even though he's not really joking about that either.] Hope it stays that way.

I'm glad to hear that. [That he hadn't gotten sick this winter, at least.] At the very least, I'd be glad to help you stave off the particular sickness of this world if you ever need it.

I'd be happy to help you as well. [He wonders if Freya's physiology reacts differently to the common cold and stuff, but he doesn't ask about it.] But how have you been?

I've been relatively well, considering. The holiday was enjoyable, but the incident with the snowmen was a bit startling, to say the least.

[It had been a good way to see if her skills were rusty, but she didn't like the thought that it had put innocents in danger. Speaking of...]

I hope you had the fortune to have missed them.

I missed them, guess that was luck on my part. Wish I could've done something to help though. [Fighting snowmen definitely sounded a bit strange though.] Was everyone okay?

Not as far as I'm aware. If there were any injuries, they were likely minor. Most of those who cannot fight must have fled to a safe place, thankfully.

[She was certainly glad to hear Steve hadn't encountered them. Even though he'd said he intended to be a soldier, she wondered if he would have been able to handle such monsters.]

That's a relief to hear... [Even if he couldn't help out, Steve's glad that no one was gravely hurt.] I wonder how they became alive though.

I could not say. Perhaps there are others seeking out the reason for it. It likely has something to do with the black stones that acted as their cores...

Black stones? So some sort of technology or magic? [He hasn't heard of black stones making snowmen become alive to say the least.]

Magic, by the looks of it. [Unless the technology here can somehow resemble magic.] It was somewhat similar to monsters I'd fought in my world.

[Oh right, monsters exist in Freya's world...] Guess this wasn't too much of a shock then. Almost familiar in a way.

In some way, yes. I'm merely grateful they were familiar enough for me to easily discover their weaknesses. If I had not been aware of the golems on Gaia, I can only imagine how long it would have taken to find the way to defeat them.

[Plus she was able to brush up on her fighting skills again. The months seem to keep passing without any battle at all, and she fears it's making her rusty...]

Were they weak against fire? Or you tried some other method? [Snowmen seems like they would be weak against fire, but Steve has no idea about golems.]

They did appear to be, in some sense. But the sand golems I knew were similar in the way their cores acted--even if you were to strike the body down, the core would activate and rebuild it. It was necessary to destroy that core to finish them.

[Snow and sand are both kind of unsteady materials, so there had to be something holding them together, right?]

Almost like a heart? [Well except that humans can still die from other injuries but.] That's really somethin', like the snow and sand were just a shield for it.

Yes, something like a heart. But like the body is to the heart, without the sand and snow, they were also unable to move without first healing.

I'm glad the incident passed without further injury. But all the same, it means we must be wary. Perhaps there is something in this city that seeks to harm us.

[They really sound like interesting creatures, too bad they were hostile to others though. Guess everything can't be nice in this place.]

The first hostile attack against the residents... [Is this a sign of things to come? Keeping up their guard seems very important now.] This place couldn't keep quiet forever.
