[This is the first time that Steve is making a video like this to everyone, but he has used this feature when talking to others on this network at least. So, he doesn't look too awkward as he talks into it.]

Know that this is a bit late, but wanted to thank the people who gave me these items for Christmas. [He shows a rather famous red, white and blue circular shield and a Captain America costume that was used during the USO tours.]

It's real thoughtful of you. [He smiles a little, completely honest in his words.] However, the outfit is a bit too uh- big for me. Couldn't get it on without drowning in it, to be honest. So I'm wondering if anyone wants it, don't have much of a use for it myself and I wouldn't want it to go to waste.

[He looks down at the shield for a moment, feeling somewhat attached to it despite himself.] I'm keepin' the shield though, never know when something like this could come in handy...

[ooc: Feel free to fourth wall him or point out that those are Captain America stuff. Tony has already spilled the beans about it.]

I simply hope he hasn't told you of anything terrible. As useful as the information could be, to have that looming on the horizon...

[Well, it would be pretty awful.]

You mean that I can alter my own future? [That's a strange thought, but it seems possible. If he knows that he becomes Captain America and crashes into ice, then he can change that. But if he doesn't crash into the ice, then Tony wouldn't say that he did and... Steve's getting a little confused just thinking about it.]

[He chuckles at the comment.] Sure that anyone would be jealous on that alone.

Makes sense. [It would seem harder to change clothes into something that one doesn't have a clear image about.] Is that outfit based on something you've seen before?

Sure there are some folks that always wanted to fight crime. [Wanting to be a costumed hero is less common though.] Was there something that changed your mind?

[And Steve's probably being a bit nosy now.]

Haven't heard of that before. I could test it out, but I'd hate to accidentally break this...

[He's figured out by now that the uniform and shield is related to his Captain America outfit.] It was a gift, thought I'd try it on. It'd be rude to not even make an attempt for it.

Vibranium? [He's never heard of that before.] What's that?

Helps to get attention at least. Maybe that's the point of the shield, make the enemies shoot at that instead of people.

Some good, some bad. [He tries to look nonchalant about the whole thing.]

Just wanna follow my own beliefs and do what's right. And if that leads me to where he says it will lead me, I won't regret it. [Theoretically at least. It's easy to say that, but Steve still has his uncertainty.]

I'd hope that it would. [But he really doesn't know what this thing is made of. Doesn't feel like steel.] Probably be a good thing to know, huh? Maybe test it out sometime...

Is that what your war is about? Stopping someone?

I'd offer, but my gun only shoots magic bullets.

Hmm. Yeah. There are so many things wrong with that logic I don't even have time to list them all.

Whatever. The shield. It's made of vibranium. Rarest metal in the world, and you've got all of it. Low vibration, lightweight, Norse god-proof, blah, blah, blah. Cool shit.

[Well, not as invasive as it could be, he supposes.]

Let's just say those people are a lot more altruistic than I am naturally, but I learned from the best.

[Part of him is morbidly curious as to how nosy Steve will get. He doesn't seem like a bad guy. He reminds Robin of someone, but he hasn't quite put his finger on who yet. ~~IT'S PROBABLY SUPERMAN~~

...did you say test. The slow grin that appears on Robin's face would not look out of place on a mad scientist.]

If your shield breaks, it wasn't a very good shield to begin with.

Several someones. An alliance of countries called the Axis Powers. [And apparently another group called HYDRA? Dr. Erskine mentioned it to him, but it was the first time he heard of the group.]

Probably should test regular bullets before jumping into the big leagues. [And magic bullets definitely count as big in Steve's mind.]

[He looks down at his shield again. Steve honestly wasn't expecting for it to be made of something so rare, something valuable.]

And this is the weapon used by Captain America, isn't it?

Same person that taught you to fight? [Steve assumed that someone has been teaching him how to fight, especially if he started so young.

And boy, that's a grin that Steve wouldn't trust on any other person. He doesn't want to potentially ruin the gift that he's received, but... he should know how reliable this thing is, especially if he wants to lug it around.]

[She nods in agreement with his mindset, and remains quiet for a moment.] It might be better to act as if you never learned of it at all, but I imagine it would be difficult.

I simply hope you can make it through whatever happens for you. [She's not going to ask about it. It doesn't seem right to her.]

[But back to the interesting thing!!]

No explosives. And no fancy alloys-- my toys are mostly made of average steel.

I know who will approve of that outfit and I uh apologize ahead of time for his inevitable burst of enthusiasm when he finds out about it.

...Thank you, Miss Freya. [He's a bit more afraid than he lets on, so it helps to hear the encouragement. Crashing into ice and waking up in the future, he could only imagine how that is.]

[Lack of explosives sounded good. Very good. Steve fiddled with his shield a little more before answering.]

Long as I'm there to see you test it out.

[Steve has a good idea who Canada was referring to.] I don't mind at all. A little enthusiasm never hurt anybody. [At least, that's what he thinks. ~~Famous last words?~~]

I will. Hopefully I'll report back with an intact shield.
