[Akihiko is standing in front of a terminal, musing for a few minutes on what he wants to say to the others. After he makes up his mind, he touches the screen to access the network.]

Hey, everyone. Listen up!

You all know what we have to do. Being stubborn about it is just gonna get you killed, so don’t even bother wasting your time. We don’t have to hang off of each other all the time! Stick with your friends, or just go shake someone’s hand every once in a while. This energy problem affects everyone, and there’s no sense in making things worse.

[He’s not happy about being stuck in some foreign city either, completely cut off from home, but there’s a mission to complete here. The sooner they get it done and over with, the sooner they can all go back home. Right?]

So, c’mon, guys! [Akihiko lifts his arms and punches one fist into the opposite open palm, while maintaining a confident look on his face.] Let’s help each other out, okay?

I didn't know him at the time, but he made a post on the network. So I guess he'd fall into the second category. He was more concerned about getting more information about this place than he was about not being able to move. [He rubs the back of his neck, looking concerned.] I just don't want to see anyone sick when it's so easy to prevent.

Yeah, it does take a bit, especially if they're more sick. I guess it's just like anything else; even if you have medicine, it takes some time to work.

Oh, so you were helping him out. I hope he's learned his lesson now. And you can remind him that he isn't gonna be able to gather info if he can't move in the first place.

Great... Is there any way to tell how far gone they are? I wouldn't wanna see people keeling over left and right - it's a little late by then.

Me too... I should probably check up on him again soon just to be safe.

I guess it'll probably be obvious if they can't walk straight, but otherwise, I don't know if there are any real outward signs.

Wha-he's still gonna keep at it? He won't tell you if he starts feeling sick? [Maybe this guy needs some sense knocked into him...]

Well, they can't exactly make it to one of these terminals if their condition's that bad. We really should set up some kinda buddy system.

I'm not sure, to be honest. He didn't seem like the kind of person who worries about himself a lot... or at all. [He makes a face.] But I guess there was a point I was like that, too, so I can't say much.

Yeah, that's probably a good idea... find some people who are willing to help, and find the people who need it. [Shinju pauses, thinking for a moment.] I wonder if there's a way to keep track of everyone who was brought here...

Seriously? [Akihiko frowns with disapproval.] Then he’d better damn well start! You’re not like that anymore, right? We’re pretty much on our own here, so we all need to take care of ourselves – and also help each other, whenever we can.

[Hush he is not being a hypocrite at all! ~~Don’t tell Shinji.~~]

Uh… The people at the visitor center would probably know, since all the newcomers show up there first. So no one’s left yet?

I'll try and convince him, at least. [He sighs, looking unsure if he even can.] And y-yeah, I'm not. I've had enough health problems in the past. I don't want any more.

Maybe you're right. I might go check... [He looks hesitant for a moment, but nods.] They have, actually. A few people, at least... I know I used to have two neighbors, but I only have one now. But it's not like they said anything before leaving, or there was any notification. I think they just disappear.

[Now entering lecture mode.] If you have health problems, you should exercise more and be careful about what you eat. I don’t know what kinda medical technology they have here, but we shouldn’t rely on them.

I guess… they’ve gone back home, then. Either they weren’t fulfilling their purpose, or… [He shrugs slightly.] Dunno what the criteria is.

Oh no, don't worry... I'm taking care of myself. It's nothing recurring or anything. [He gives a quiet, nervous laugh.]

I guess so. I don't really know, either... I'm not sure why they would send people home when they took so much effort to get them here in the first place.

[Something seems a little off about that laugh… but he doesn’t know the guy well enough to tell what’s wrong. So he’ll let it go for now.]

Hate to say it, but… if they’re useless, they might not wanna keep ‘em around. I mean, not that they’re really useless, but they want people here for specific reasons. Though I’d think threatening them with death would be convincing enough.

[Don't mind him. He just doesn't like to give details.]

I... guess that's true. I--I guess I never thought about... death being involved, though I suppose I should have gotten that from "dangerously ill." [He really wants to think things are all fine and dandy here. Call him unrealistic.]
