There isn't much fanfare in this posting, even with the official notice on the top. Actually, there's something almost stark in its simplicity. Just basic text and a blinking cursor on a black background, that slowly loads up into a full message: |
Local and guest alike. Several months ago the city experienced a disruption in the form of a transmission hacking of an official feed; as many of you reading this are aware. We have since been reviewing the data and running decryption on the hijacking's interference, and have come to a conclusion on a location of the signal. It is outside of the city walls, which now makes it necessary for us to enlist the help of those called to the city. Be advised that the person is an unknown factor, and likely to be dangerous. In addition, the environment outside is hazardous as well, and should be approached with caution. Because of this risk, volunteers will be rewarded for their efforts. They will also be the first on the scene with uncovering answers that we all doubtless wish to discover. Representatives from their respective departments will be available to answer questions, and impart necessary information. Given the nature of this task, there may be additional requests granted. However, they are only requests. The first and major goal in this is gathering information. Fare you well, and may the Twins guard you while afield. |
(ooc: There will be NPCs willing to answer questions watching this entry. However, some NPC responses may be slow due to time differences.)

[he's just saying.]
so you say this guy is outside
how did he get there
how is he staying there
are these questions we are only going to get answers to if we go out there
are there other things well get answers to if we go out there
if the answer to either of those is yes count me in
not gonna claim top game but sounds better than twiddling my thumbs waiting for everyone else to get back
accidental voice;
[What? it's true!]
voice
Hi-five, bro.
[whether he can tell or not is not clear and doesn't really matter anyhow]
voice
[what is this bro thing you got her confused, but she will make a clapping sound...?]
voice
[that works too! he's gonna return the clapping for a moment or two.]
Good enough for over the phone. Network.
voice
[Blame her white mage friend for that one.]
voice
So what do you make of this, Yakie?
voice
Well, I'm not sure about the person who first left the message... but it's obvious they can't help themselves. [a beat] So this can either go badly, worse, or somehow great by sheer stupidity and luck.
voice
Yeah. That'd be nice but nothing I would've really expected in the first place. [quest givers don't do that. otherwise they'd actually be out doing shit.] So pretty much like any endeavour based on faith and not a whole lot of information. How're your luck stats looking?
voice
Aside from one time...fairly decent. Though now that I've said it I likely have ruined my own personal chances.
You?
voice
Well, the cat hasn't hocked up anything in the last half hour, I think I'm good. Or, you know, we can probably count on about ten minutes of things being okay before it all falls over.
voice
T'would seem about right.
Re: voice
So we're all set on that front then. All we need now is the goods for when things inevitably go south.
voice
I'll stock up on potions, then.
[Speaking of hobbies... now she's missing her conjurer friend even more.]
voice
Sounds like a good plan. I'll see what I can get that looks handy. [man, now he's mildly jealous of people who got to have potions. Eh,

There IS a chance you'll find out the answers if you do, but we suggest caution. There's nothing to say they won't try to kill if anyone gets too close.
no subject
ie ten seconds after you wouldve liked to know
thought as much
so whats the plan
are we getting teams or making them ourselves or what
any handy hints
beyond the obvious keep your eyes peeled dont get hit give shit to anything that wants to give you shit before it can
no subject
Most of the organizing we will leave to you, as we'd like to make sure those who group together can watch each other's backs just in case and get along without incident. However we will ask those who don't have anyone to partner up with to do so before they leave.
We will also be asking groups who don't go looking for the source of the signal to complete other odd jobs outside the city walls as well.
no subject
makes sense
get someone you trust to watch your back
whens this all happening again
what kind of odd jobs?
no subject
[Or they don't. It's a mystery]
The gates will open on the morning of the 26th. As for odd jobs, there will be several from each major group of the city. We're still compiling it but we hope to have it completed by Wednesday.
no subject
lemme know how that goes
or
yknow
if you need a distraction
[serious or not he could totally do that. or try.]
so weve got a bit of time
ok
well thatd be awkward if you got it done after
unless you have time travel
cant say ive noticed any of that though
no subject
If we could time travel, none of this would have happened in the first place.
So no, we don't really have the ability to.
no subject
thanks for taking that burden off my mind
yeah seemed like a long shot
guess youd have to have a lotta power to get that started up in the first place
just to sate this raging curiosity rising up though
how would that have helped?
beyond going back and attempting to sort out the shit that got this started before it really grabbed onto your ankle
no subject
Exactly that reason. Though who knows if it would make matters better or worse.
no subject
what exactly is this paradox going to do to my personal timeline
or the general timeline of everyone
for all we know it could push things the other way
guess theres no way of know though
