AUDIO;

I have been doing a poor job of attempting to follow a friend's advice. To try different things.

So I am... in need of some advice of how to properly. [Pauses.] How to find enjoyable activities. To r-word.

The usual methods have not been a sufficient method.

['R-word'? Seriously? Kit can guess what it means, but geez grown-ups can just be so weird sometimes.]

Well... what's relaxing kinda depends on the kinds of things you like to do. Like I like to read, now that I know how, but other people might think it's boring.

What kinds of things do you like to do?

[He likes writing reports? Well, no accounting for taste. The music thing though...]

Hmmm... Music, huh? Did you ever think about learning to play an instrument? It takes practice, but it's really fun once you learn how.

I know playing my flupe helps me relax. It's like... the music gives my feelings somewhere to go, rather than them just being all jumbled up inside.

You can play more than one? That's cool! Which ones do you play?

[If any of them sound good with a flupe, maybe they could play together sometime.]

And a flupe sounds like this!

[There is silence aside from a bit of shuffling around for a moment as Kit gets her flupe out and gets ready. But then Ambus will hear music begin to play.]

Aww... Well, if we manage to find any I'd like to hear you play sometime. If you don't mind, I mean. I've never heard music from your planet before.

[Once she's finished playing, Kit nods, forgetting for a moment that Ambus can't see her. Realizing this, she speaks up again.]

Thanks. It's a lullaby; our mother used to hum it to us when we were having trouble falling asleep. My friend Aburn taught me how to play it happy instead of sad, but that version sounds better with other people playing along.

[Subtle hint there.]

And speaking of which, I think there's a music store downtown. Maybe you could find an instrument there that you'd like to try?
