[The first time this happened was bad enough, but a second time? He was getting very tired of being tossed around by these people. But he would have to do something about that later, right now he needed to check on Bucky. He... he was here, he remembered that. The person he was going to start searching for with Sam was in this city.
It didn't take him long to find Bucky (and Tony). And wow. Those two were definitely something special. They owed him a big explanation for this.
After he made sure that those idiots were getting some sort of rest, Steve decided to toss something up on the network. He definitely knew how to use it and he needed to address some of the people here. Best and fastest way was to do this.]
Just lost another three days here. [He tried to look easygoing about it, but there was definitely some irritation in his now more modern features. His hair was a little shorter and he was actually wearing jeans with a non-plaid shirt.] And looks like I missed a whole lot while I was gone.
[Tony explained what happened, the malfunctioning of the suit. The fight. It was a big mess, but at least they were going to recover. A lot of his irritation disappeared at the thought and now he looked grateful as he continued to address the video.]
But wanted to thank those that checked up on Bucky and Tony, made sure they were okay. I wasn't there to help when I should've been. [Maybe it wasn't his fault, but he still felt responsible. However, he tried to push away that guilt for now and instead smiled a little wryly at the feed.] They're friends of mine that get into more trouble than they should. Can't look away from them for two seconds before they come back bloodied and bruised.
[Although, Steve wasn't really better. Probably worse, actually. But details.]
And if anyone wants to tell me their side, be happy to hear it.

[So, Steve is right. Lingering doesn't help anyone. All it does is keep the person who is lingering from moving forward and becoming stronger.]
I am glad Lord James is going to be okay. He was hurting so much when I found him, but he didn't want to let me know. I could tell, though! He wasn't moving right or breathing right. I noticed and Kit did too!
[Diarmuid gives Steve a curious look.]
Why are adults like that? Why do they hide things from people who want to help them? We can't help if we don't know what is wrong! We are friends, right? And friends help each other just like your friends back home helped you! I want to do that for you and for Lord James!
[He knows he's little and that limits what he can do, but he has a bit heart. That counts for something, right?]
But he was willing to answer his questions a bit more honestly.]
Can't speak for all adults, but sometimes we just want to keep things to ourselves. Carry our burden silently and not bother others with our problems. [It's Steve's reason for being quiet about his problems a lot, although he's now taken the method of smiling through things. And for the longest time, Steve didn't think his problems really could be solved either. Truthfully, part of him still thinks that.]
[Unfortunately, Steve's answer doesn't really help Diarmuid understand any better. However, maybe if he asks a few more questions he can figure it out.]
Are people ashamed of needing help? Everyone needs help sometimes! There is no reason to be ashamed. And friends don't think helping each other is a burden. There is no reason not to tell them!
Everyone needs help, even the strongest person can't fight alone. But wouldn't say it's always about shame, just that some wanna be a bit more independent. [When he was still weak, he always wanted to appear strong and keep things to himself. Some part of that still remains in him.]
[Diarmuid's face brightens in understanding. Indeed, he had not grasped what Steve meant fully, but he does now.]
I didn't think of that. I suppose that is okay as long as the person realizes their are people who will help them if they want it. And so long as they don't push themselves too far when they don't need to!
[Although Steve probably pushes himself a bit too far, even if he doesn't think or realize it. He feels that he has to live up to his title as Captain America, even in this place.]
We just gotta make sure Bucky doesn't push himself too far, right?
Yes we do!
[Diarmuid nods his head so hard, one might worry it will fall off.]
I understand why he might be afraid to trust others after what happened, but that just means we have to keep trying until he isn't afraid anymore!
It's gonna take a lot of effort, from the both of us. [Although, he has a feeling that Diarmuid is ready to give it his all. Steve just has to make sure he doesn't get caught in anything dangerous because of him or Bucky.]
[Diarmuid says this with complete confidence.]
We will fix the things the bad people did to him. They won't win!
They won't. [He's not sure how much can be 'fixed,' but... he's not going to abandon Bucky no matter what. Steve's going to be there for his friend, until the end of the line.] And when I get back to Earth, I'll make sure they won't hurt anyone else again either.
Good! They need to pay and be kept from hurting anyone else. I wish I could come and help you since he is my friend too, but I know you will do a good job yourself. You're strong and don't give up!
And I'll have friends with me, people I can trust to have my back. Worked the last time and it will again.
I am glad your friends will still be there to help you. It is so great to have those kinds of friends. I am always happy when I find out that Lord James has a new friend because he needs friends too.
[He would just prefer of those friends avoided further misunderstandings...]
Not trying to kill Steve or follow HYDRA anymore is good too. Along with trying to get his memories back... there's been a lot of progress and he's hopeful.]
I am too. And gotta say, he's been faring a lot better compared to the last time I saw him. [Although, the last time he saw Bucky was when he was getting his face punched in.]
[Considering Steve is the one who knows James the best, Diarmuid is glad to hear from him that James is getting better. It's one thing for Diarmuid to think he is getting better, but his knowledge of James is very limited. Steve is a completely different story.]
Speaking of friends, are your friends at home like Lord James or are they a lot different? What would it be like if they came here?
[One positive thing that came out of the misunderstanding at least.]
They're largely different. [He instantly thinks about Sam and Natasha and how they would react to this place.] Both of them would be able to adapt, they're strong like that.
[Good luck with that task guys.]
What are your friends' names? I can keep an eye out to see if they happen to arrive with the new arrivals sometime!
[Diarmuid imagines that any friend of Steve's must be a really good person and he wants to meet them.]
Sam and Natasha. [Course, Steve is still planning on going to the welcome center anyway. But he's not going to hide the fact that they are his friends.]
He's stubborn, isn't he? He seemed that way when I talked to him. Just do your best! It's not your fault if you can't do the impossible!
[Is that a joke? Diarmuid sure seems serious enough...]
Sam and Natasha. Those sound like good, strong names. I will make sure to tell you if I run into them!
[Even if Steve is likely to find them before Diarmuid does, he will still try to help all he can.]
Talking to him is still a bit of a challenge sometimes. He can't deny that.]
Thank you, Diarmuid. Appreciate this a whole lot.
[Diarmuid smiles widely at Steve.]
Just let me know if there is anything I can do. Maybe you and Lord James can come over sometime and I can cook for you both!
We'd like that. Maybe have some sort of potluck. [Clearly Tony isn't invited :|]
[Diarmuid pauses a moment, suddenly looking confused.]
What's a 'potluck?'
[Diarmuid claps his hands excitedly. Why didn't they do this kind of thing at home? It sounds like a great thing to do for festivals!]
What is the best kind of thing to bring to a potluck? I will find something new to make for everyone!
[And practice a lot so he can make it right before the potluck.]
