[Video] w/optional [Action] In Memorandum...
Hi everyone! I hope you are having a good day!
[Diarmuid waves excitedly at the screen for a moment, before having to move quickly to catch the strange little animal that starts to slide out of his lap.]
Sorry about that, Lir. I guess I waved too hard...
[The creature makes a soft burbling sound and blows a bubble at Diarmuid. The bubble bumps against the boy's nose and breaks causing him to giggle. He then turns his attention back to the terminal.]
Is there anyone here who remembers me talking about wanting to have a ceremony to celebrate all of our friends who have been sent away? I would like to have it next month by the river. There should be food and maybe even some activities, since the point is to have fun remembering our friends instead of being sad. At the end, I want to put candles out on the river floating in boats to send our wishes for our friends to them!
Will you guys help me out? Please? Lets do something nice for all the people who aren't here anymore! You don't need to have lost someone to come or help either. We're all friends here, right?
[Action]
[A few hours after making his request for help, Diarmuid can be found down by the river running up and down it looking for the best spot to have the ceremony--maybe 'festival' would be a better word--at. Lir bobs in the river following along with him the best he can. Every so often, Diarmuid stops and looks around, making gestures and talking to Lir as he tries to picture where everything will go if this is the place he picks.
He certainly won't mind if anyone stops to talk to him about the festival. After all, he's still trying to work everything out...]

Well, I could enchant you a pair. They wouldn't take you very high just to be safe, but...
[Honestly, anything to keep him smiling.]
In any case, what's this I hear about you needing help with something, hmm? I'll help however I can.
no subject
Would you? That would be so neat! What about my brother? Can you make a pair for him too? Then we can go play together and keep each other from getting hurt!
[Diarmuid then nods at her.]
I want to have a festival to celebrate all the friends we have had who have left here. You are good at parties. How do I make sure everyone knows when and where it is happening? I can announce it on the Network, but not everyone uses that!
no subject
[After all, she can't send a pair of kids into the air on fabric and wire, now can she?]
Well, if you want everyone to know, we can make up some flyers and put them up in places people are likely to see. How does that sound?
no subject
[He rocks back and forth on his feet happily, before remembering he is being rude and should thank her for her offer.]
Thank you, Lady Cupid!
I wanted to do some posters, but I'm not very good at writing yet. People might not be able to read them if I do them...
no subject
[She drifts down to set him on the ground then, and ruffles his hair gently.]
Of course! And don't worry, I'll write the posters up for you- I've been needing to practice my penmanship anyway!
no subject
[As soon as she sets him down, Diarmuid turns around to give her a big hug.]
Thank you again! Are you planning another party any time soon? Can I help? My brother too?
no subject
[She swoops in again, tickling him lightly before straightening up.]
And I might, actually! I have to check up on the whole birthdays thing, but as soon as I can gather enough people I'll get around to it. But you can both very definitely help! Cute assistants make any job lots easier.
no subject
Yay! But what do you mean, 'birthdays thing?" Oh no...
[His eyes suddenly get wide.]
My brother and I forgot to celebrate our birthdays! We were going to do it together...
no subject
I was going to try and throw parties for people who let me know when their birthdays were...
[And she grins broadly as he says the second bit, brows rising.]
And it looks like I have two volunteers!
no subject
Oh... Oh! Would you really do that? I don't care about my birthday so much, but we definitely should have a party for my brother's birthday! I have been thinking about trying to find him a real sword, because I know he will like that. That way he doesn't have to just stick to my old practice sword.
no subject
[She bends down to boop the tip of his nose with a finger.]
And secondly- I'll care enough about your birthday for both of us if you don't want to. As far as swords go, we might have to ask someone who works for the government here about that.
no subject
I care... I just care more about my brother's birthday!
[What a little weirdo...]
Why would we need to ask the gov-urn-ment? I already have two swords and I know I am not the only one with weapons. There is even a shop in the 3rd District for weapons!
no subject
Well, that's very sweet of you.
[The latter part comes as news to her, and she blinks, startled.]
Goodness, is there really? Well, I'll have to look into that, in that case. I wouldn't have thought they'd have one since this place is so peaceful...
no subject
I believe so! Several people have talked about going to find it and my new friend Luke said he found it the other day! Since they bring people from all over here, it only makes sense to give them weapons to practice with so they don't get bored while they are here.
[Of course, that also means people would be armed to fight each other or the people who run the city, but Diarmuid doesn't think about that.]
What kind of weapon do you use, Lady Cupid?
[Or is it really that obvious?]
no subject
[His question makes her fluster, and she looks around before bending a little closer to his height as if she's going to tell him a secret. And she is... sort-of.]
Well, I'm a fan of the bow but- and you have to promise to keep this a secret- I'm an awful shot. So I stick to sword or spear and shield if I have to fight.
no subject
I kind of think I should take him along and let him pick. Weapons are one of those things that just feel right in the hand...
[He thinks about things a little longer and then nods.]
But you can help me decide what are the best swords, so I can suggest those to him. How is that?
[It will save time and keep them from accidentally picking something that is all flash and not really a weapon. There are surely some of those at the shop. There always are.]
Don't be sad you are a bad shot. If you keep practicing, you are bound to get better! And even if you don't, sword and spear are what I use. We can still practice together!
no subject
[Fortunately for him, Cupid isn't too set on the idea of doing anything in one particular way most of the time.]
And I'm always up for a little practice, if you don't mind going up against an old lady like me.
[The last is said with a laugh, and another hair ruffling.]
no subject
[Diarmuid gives her a pout for a moment, before the look is chased away by a giggle caused by the hair ruffling.]
You are experienced and those who are experienced are the best teachers!
no subject
[She grins at him, shaking her head in amusement.]
Well, I haven't got as much experience as some of my family, but I'll do my best if you really want to try and practice with me.
no subject
[Diarmuid rocks back and forth on his feet, excited.]
I want to practice with everyone so I can learn all kinds of different styles. That will make me a stronger knight!
no subject
[A wry smile.]
I'm sure you'll be an excellent knight regardless.
no subject
[And Cupid agrees so that is even more proof it's right!]
I am going to try hard, but for now, I have to try hard to make sure this is a great celebration. Everyone is counting on me!
no subject
Well, like I said, you've got my help for anything you need, little knight. I'll help you make sure this celebration of yours goes as close to perfect as I can.
no subject
blamethank Aengus.]Do you want to go back to the apartment with me so we can work on stuff for posters? I'm not sure what all should go on them. And we need things that will make sure people notice them!
no subject
Sure thing. You know, I think I have some glitter pens that would be hexcellent for just this occasion.
