[Video] w/optional [Action] In Memorandum...
Hi everyone! I hope you are having a good day!
[Diarmuid waves excitedly at the screen for a moment, before having to move quickly to catch the strange little animal that starts to slide out of his lap.]
Sorry about that, Lir. I guess I waved too hard...
[The creature makes a soft burbling sound and blows a bubble at Diarmuid. The bubble bumps against the boy's nose and breaks causing him to giggle. He then turns his attention back to the terminal.]
Is there anyone here who remembers me talking about wanting to have a ceremony to celebrate all of our friends who have been sent away? I would like to have it next month by the river. There should be food and maybe even some activities, since the point is to have fun remembering our friends instead of being sad. At the end, I want to put candles out on the river floating in boats to send our wishes for our friends to them!
Will you guys help me out? Please? Lets do something nice for all the people who aren't here anymore! You don't need to have lost someone to come or help either. We're all friends here, right?
[Action]
[A few hours after making his request for help, Diarmuid can be found down by the river running up and down it looking for the best spot to have the ceremony--maybe 'festival' would be a better word--at. Lir bobs in the river following along with him the best he can. Every so often, Diarmuid stops and looks around, making gestures and talking to Lir as he tries to picture where everything will go if this is the place he picks.
He certainly won't mind if anyone stops to talk to him about the festival. After all, he's still trying to work everything out...]

Well, that's very sweet of you.
[The latter part comes as news to her, and she blinks, startled.]
Goodness, is there really? Well, I'll have to look into that, in that case. I wouldn't have thought they'd have one since this place is so peaceful...
no subject
I believe so! Several people have talked about going to find it and my new friend Luke said he found it the other day! Since they bring people from all over here, it only makes sense to give them weapons to practice with so they don't get bored while they are here.
[Of course, that also means people would be armed to fight each other or the people who run the city, but Diarmuid doesn't think about that.]
What kind of weapon do you use, Lady Cupid?
[Or is it really that obvious?]
no subject
[His question makes her fluster, and she looks around before bending a little closer to his height as if she's going to tell him a secret. And she is... sort-of.]
Well, I'm a fan of the bow but- and you have to promise to keep this a secret- I'm an awful shot. So I stick to sword or spear and shield if I have to fight.
no subject
I kind of think I should take him along and let him pick. Weapons are one of those things that just feel right in the hand...
[He thinks about things a little longer and then nods.]
But you can help me decide what are the best swords, so I can suggest those to him. How is that?
[It will save time and keep them from accidentally picking something that is all flash and not really a weapon. There are surely some of those at the shop. There always are.]
Don't be sad you are a bad shot. If you keep practicing, you are bound to get better! And even if you don't, sword and spear are what I use. We can still practice together!
no subject
[Fortunately for him, Cupid isn't too set on the idea of doing anything in one particular way most of the time.]
And I'm always up for a little practice, if you don't mind going up against an old lady like me.
[The last is said with a laugh, and another hair ruffling.]
no subject
[Diarmuid gives her a pout for a moment, before the look is chased away by a giggle caused by the hair ruffling.]
You are experienced and those who are experienced are the best teachers!
no subject
[She grins at him, shaking her head in amusement.]
Well, I haven't got as much experience as some of my family, but I'll do my best if you really want to try and practice with me.
no subject
[Diarmuid rocks back and forth on his feet, excited.]
I want to practice with everyone so I can learn all kinds of different styles. That will make me a stronger knight!
no subject
[A wry smile.]
I'm sure you'll be an excellent knight regardless.
no subject
[And Cupid agrees so that is even more proof it's right!]
I am going to try hard, but for now, I have to try hard to make sure this is a great celebration. Everyone is counting on me!
no subject
Well, like I said, you've got my help for anything you need, little knight. I'll help you make sure this celebration of yours goes as close to perfect as I can.
no subject
blamethank Aengus.]Do you want to go back to the apartment with me so we can work on stuff for posters? I'm not sure what all should go on them. And we need things that will make sure people notice them!
no subject
Sure thing. You know, I think I have some glitter pens that would be hexcellent for just this occasion.
no subject
[Diarmuid reaches for her hand and then stops.]
Oh! I need to get Lir. Then, we can go!
[He giggles and then runs over to the river to pull his horsea out of it.]
no subject
[She waits patiently for him to go get his pet, reaching out almost absently to pat its head before holding her hand out to Diarmuid.]
Well, while we walk we can think of what to put on the posters. Do you know what you want them to say?
no subject
Yay, sparkles! Sparkles are good. They get people's attention. Now...what goes on it...
[The boy spends a few moments thinking before he continues.]
The date and the time and the place for sure! What else would be good? Should we mention the wish boats?
no subject
[She scoops him up again, Lir and all, and finishes the walk to the apartment buildings at a slight hover, thinking to herself.]
The wish boats definitely... and you're planning to have food and drinks too right? Definitely mention that.
no subject
Yes! There will be food and drink. I have people who have offered to help with that already. They are going to help my brother and me learn more about cooking too. That way we don't have to just have soup and sandwiches.
I am going to have stuff to make lanterns with too. Do you think that should be in there?
no subject
[But she doesn't sound terribly chastising, just a little worried. But she supposes they could be doing worse than soup and sandwiches, young as they are.]
We can mention that there will be materials for lanterns, so people don't have to worry about that. Anything else?
no subject
[Hey, at least they aren't eating candy all the time anymore!]
But if you want to make us stuff you can. Will you show me how to make some of it? I want to learn to make all kinds of things!
[Diarmuid pauses for a moment to think and then shakes his head.]
That is a lot of stuff already. Will there be room for anything else?
no subject
[There will be so many ridiculous cooking incidents, she can already feel it.]
You're right... that is a lot. Maybe that's enough then. Do you have a date in mind yet?
no subject
[It's not exactly clear how he manages it with Lir in his arms, but Diarmuid gives her a hug.]
I was thinking about having it at the end of next month so I have a lot of time to get things ready. Maybe around the 25th? What do you think?
