[Video] w/optional [Action] In Memorandum...
Hi everyone! I hope you are having a good day!
[Diarmuid waves excitedly at the screen for a moment, before having to move quickly to catch the strange little animal that starts to slide out of his lap.]
Sorry about that, Lir. I guess I waved too hard...
[The creature makes a soft burbling sound and blows a bubble at Diarmuid. The bubble bumps against the boy's nose and breaks causing him to giggle. He then turns his attention back to the terminal.]
Is there anyone here who remembers me talking about wanting to have a ceremony to celebrate all of our friends who have been sent away? I would like to have it next month by the river. There should be food and maybe even some activities, since the point is to have fun remembering our friends instead of being sad. At the end, I want to put candles out on the river floating in boats to send our wishes for our friends to them!
Will you guys help me out? Please? Lets do something nice for all the people who aren't here anymore! You don't need to have lost someone to come or help either. We're all friends here, right?
[Action]
[A few hours after making his request for help, Diarmuid can be found down by the river running up and down it looking for the best spot to have the ceremony--maybe 'festival' would be a better word--at. Lir bobs in the river following along with him the best he can. Every so often, Diarmuid stops and looks around, making gestures and talking to Lir as he tries to picture where everything will go if this is the place he picks.
He certainly won't mind if anyone stops to talk to him about the festival. After all, he's still trying to work everything out...]

[He chuckles lightly at the excitement.]
Hm? So, you two live alone? [He has to wonder how old the brother is- other than..."young enough for the two of them to set a kitchen on fire", that is. This place clearly doesn't care about that kind of thing- no surprise, here, of course. The last place Luke was, hadn't cared, either.]
I'll definitely make as much as I can. I'm sure lots of people will come, since you're putting so much effort into it. It's bound to pay off!
no subject
[Lir blows a couple of bubbles at the screen as if he agrees waiting was a good idea, and Diarmuid reaches out to pet the Pokemon on the head.]
Yes, we live alone...together!
[Diarmuid giggles because yes, that makes sense.]
When we first arrived, our apartments were next to each other and my brother dug a tunnel to connect the rooms. We spent so much time in mine that we just decided to move to a bigger apartment together.
no subject
, so Luke understands it perfectly.]...
[Wait. A tunnel between their apartments? Luke's eyebrows lift, a bit, at this. Finally, he lets out a soft laugh of disbelief.]
Well, I guess that does make sense, then. How'd he manage to dig a tunnel between your rooms, though?
no subject
[It probably helps that his brother is actually Cu Chulainn and is part god.]
There is a reason he will be my hero when he grows up! He's really special! I don't know if you have met him yet, but he has blue hair and red eyes. He's also my age. His name is Cu Chulainn.
no subject
[So many unique names.]
He sounds pretty amazing... [Wow...and he's Diarmuid's age, too?] Well, I definitely can't wait to meet him!
no subject
Yes! I will make sure to tell him about you. I bet he will want to meet you just as much! He likes meeting new people. Especially people who know how to fight!
[His brother will be just as excited as Diarmuid is about the offer to train them Luke made before.]
no subject
I like meeting new people, too. It's how I managed to learn as much as I did, during my journey.
[Also...
Being told Cu Chulainn is strong, after being told that it's Diarmuid that's teaching him how to fight...He can't help but become even more curious, than he already had been, about how well these two can fight.
After everything he's seen, he doesn't doubt people's abilities on account of age. Ion and Sync had technically only been two, after all.]
So, he likes training just as much as you do, then?
no subject
[Diarmuid raises a hand to his mouth to hide the sudden grin on his face.]
For a long time, he had a hard time keeping a hold of the practice sword. He kept throwing it at the end of the swing! He's better now. He just needed to practice. Maybe soon I will be able to get him a real weapon to use. I am sure he will like that!
no subject
I-...I see. [He gives a light chuckle.] I'm sure he'd love that! If you want help shopping for a sword, feel free to ask.
no subject
[Lir make a squeak of approval.]
Lir agrees. That makes it un-nanny-mouse!
no subject
[Smiling, he suppresses a chuckle. Well, he definitely has to give him props for getting that close.]
Yes. It does make it unanimous, doesn't it?
no subject
[Diarmuid's voice trails off and he shakes his head.]
What you said! I will stop by your apartment when we are ready. If you aren't home, I will just leave you a note!
[His handwriting will be obvious. It's the one with all the messy lines and doodles...]
no subject
[Nodding, he thought on it, for a moment.] Sounds good to me. And...after I get a job, I'll let you know when you definitely won't find me there.
[To save everyone the extra trouble!]
no subject
[The boy tilts his head back and forth for a moment, obviously thinking about something, then he grins.]
Thank you! What kind of job are you looking for? I want to see if I guessed right!
no subject
Ahh...okay, then. He certainly doesn't mind playing along.
Smiling, he nods.] Well, I was thinking about asking the weapons store if I could work there, but... [He glances to the side.] If not there, then I definitely planned on asking some of the restaurants if they're hiring.
[Since, hey...might as well stick with something he's remotely good at.]
no subject
[Diarmuid cheers softly.]
I thought you would look for something to do with fighting or weapons. I didn't get the restaurant, but that is because you can cook, right? Hmm...
Is it half right? Maybe it's only a third right since I was thinking more about fighting than weapons in specific. What do you think?
no subject
[Luke definitely thinks he got close enough!] Hey, I say it's definitely at least half right! Fighting usually involves weapons, right? Besides, you get extra points for guessing my first choice!
no subject
[He cheers and then his expression grows thoughtful.]
I wonder if I will get a lot better at cooking if I focus on it for a whole year too. Maybe I will do that after I finish learning to read and write...
no subject
Well, if you want...I could help you with both of those things, on the side, or something. I won't have a ton of time, but maybe I could set aside time once or twice a week...
[He scratches the side of his face.] ...You know, to help you study and learn a bit about cooking.
no subject
[But to be honest, he likes having a lot of people help him. Everyone teachers these things in different ways and it helps Diarmuid to learn, oddly enough. If he can't figure out something using one method, he just tries another one until something works.]
I want to make sure we have time for cooking and sparring first!
[Priorities.]
no subject
[Giving a light grin, he lifts a hand to the side in a thoughtful gesture.] So...we'll probably need to work on both, at least enough for you to know what the recipes say.
no subject
You're right! I looked at a cookbook once in the library and I didn't know a lot of the words. Some of them because I couldn't read them and some I just didn't know what it meant! Like I don't know what it means to purr-ray something. Do you know what that means?
no subject
He has to think for a brief moment, before he gives an 'ah-ha!' look. He must mean...]
Pureeing something is basically just-[he glances upward, for a moment]-when you take food and soften it. For example, when you take potatoes and turn them into mashed potatoes? That's making a puree.
no subject
Typical boy. If nothing else about him is quite what could be called typical, at least this is.]
What is a po-tat-o?
no subject
Crap...
How to...describe it...]
It's...this- round, brown...thing that people cook and eat. Actually, I think it's a vegetable? Anyway, they're a really popular ingredient in cooking.
