[So hello everyone, you get to see a giant, clothes-wearing, standing upright talking dog today. Life here may have gotten a tad stranger. But he's out in the city, waving to the device, as happy as can be.]

So this is how it works! Never did understand how these thing-a-ma-bobs go... That's more Chip and Dale's style. But now that I know what I'm doing, I figured it was time I said hello ta everyone here!

My name's Goofy! It's nice ta meet all of ya! I heard that we all gotta touch in order to keep up the energy, so don't you worry! I love a good hug! Iff'n you ever need a boost, here I am!

Aw, I sure wish hugs and hand holdin' could be used ta save worlds more often.

Huh? Ain't we here cause the place is low on energy?

As best as I can tell, yeah, but aside from the hugging itself, and the blocked-off areas, I haven't seen much effect-- let alone cause.

Hmmm... Now I ain't sure what ta think!

I don't, either, to be honest, but the hugging seems to keep them happy.

I know I shouldn't be anything but thrilled by hippie progress like that, but it's so not what I'm used to.

One slightly less sanitary way to think of it, but you sounded for a minute there like worldhopping wasn't a big deal for you. Something you mentioned about other people doing something better than you?

Ya mean Chip and Dale? They're real smart when it comes ta machines and doo-dads like this! They've built Gummi Ships and computers and all kinda neat stuff.

[Sounds like they'd be useful to have around for a... project or two, but no use dreaming the impossible dream.]

And you do the heavy lifting for them? Or what?

Aw no, I don't help 'em that much. I can be a lil' clumsy sometimes.

Did you get the name Goofy before or after you found that out?

Can't beat the place ya grew up in! It's full of fun and friendly folk! We like havin' festivals, and playin' games, and everyone is always nice ta each other!

Across your entire world? If you speak true, many would call it a paradise!

Some worlds are just smaller than others, that's all.

Yup! Me and my pals went world-crossin' ta help save 'em!

I'd heard of such a thing once before... Did you travel on a 'gummy ship'?

I'd spoken to another who had done the same. Before then I had never even heard of such a thing.

Oh sure, it used ta be a big secret. No one was supposed ta know other worlds existed.

The thought of a world-crossing menace is a frightening one...

[Having demons come out of the abyss into one world was bad enough.]

What happened once it became known?

I ain't sure. Happened only recently, ya see.

Someone let slip the secret? Is that what brought you here?

[okay, so. England's been staring at his monitor for the past five minutes in shock. that was Goofy. as in, the character from America's Mickey Mouse cartoons. just. how does England process this? too bad America wasn't here...

at last he turns on the button to reply]

H-Hello, there, mister Goofy. My name's E-E-England... I've b-been here a long time. I-if you have any questions, I w-w-will try to help you...

[Even someone as Goofy as he is can't help but notice something's a tad off with this fellow.]

Well, my first question is... are you all right Mister England?

[GEH! he laughs nervously]

o-Of course! i'm fine! It's... Well, I-I don't mean to be rude, but we haven't seen very many who look like you around here.

[Oh! Well that makes sense.]

I getcha! None of the other worlds I met had anyone like me either! Sure did see a whole bunch of folks like yerself.

You traveled to other worlds?

A-huh! They needed help too!

I... See. [intrigued] So this all isn't that strange to you.

Nope. But... well, usually I went with my friends, and the worlds didn't grab me outta nowhere like this.

Ah, yes. It's a bit disorienting. And all the visitors that have been brought here have no way of leaving voluntarily.

I wouldn't mind stickin' around ta help folks, but I got stuff ta do back with my pals... savin' more worlds! Ah-yuk!

[oh gosh he did the thing!!!! England has to steel himself from showing bewilderment on his face]

W-well, perhaps you will be more successful in finding a way out of here. Though, if it wouldn't bother you, would you mind telling me about some of the worlds you've visited in your travels?

Sure!

[He starts counting off of his fingers.]

There's Traverse Town, and Neverland, that undersea grotto was fun... Pride Rock, Wonderland, Ancient Greece...

[Wonderland... Neverland... Ancient Greece...?! it's getting more and more difficult for England to act impassively. in what cartoon did Goofy go to Wonderland? Pride Rock sounds so familiar, too!]

A-Ancient Greece...

Oh, that was a real fun time! Phil taught us how ta be heroes! And Hercules was so strong! Then we got ta fight in these big tournaments

[All of which he says like this is completely normal. Which. To him it is. Well.]

[don't know who Phil is, but Hercules? ...wait a minute...]

Tournaments? Like in the Greek Olympics?

Kinda...? We won these big, nice-lookin' trophies!

[stare] you must have had some fascinating adventures.

A-huh! We had lots of fun and excitement!

[England wants to ask more, and find this all unbelievable because he's never seen any Goofy cartoons where he's gone to Ancient Greece or Wonderland... then England wonders why he's analyzing cartoons. he would facepalm at himself were he a less dignified man]

Yes, well. Just be careful. Make sure you get those hugs everyday. It can really make you sick. [HE DOESN'T WANT TO SEE GOOFY SICK]

Why sure! I love gettin' hugs and givin' hugs! Why, I'm sure we'll hug one of these days!

You're positively chipper about being here. Most people seem to be rather distressed and want to rush off to go back to their world.

[Huh. This kid looks... familiar. Real familiar. He can't put his finger on it, but it gives him the chills.]
