1 [video] killed the radio star
[Sure, he's walking through the city today with Chobo, but he's also twirling a rose behind his back. For some reason, he just can't put it down. Though maybe he'd just give it to someone. Like Crys. Or Silver. Or something. Someone. Hell, even Chobo could eat it.
Not being a fan of chocolates or real sweet things in general, he's chocolate free.
Just.
A little more courageous than usual, maybe, though you can't tell it right off. Courageous enough to maybe, you know, ask someone out. Steady out. Out out. Dating. Life partners. Daycare couple.
Maybe.
Anyway, the important thing is that he's got something to proposeand someone to propose to and it's gonna be faaaaantastic and food filled. Pokégear, let's shine the spotlight! Man, it's still weird to use it like this!]
Hope everyone's lovey dovey day was cool, since for sad singles like myself it's just a cruel reminder of reality. [~Dramatic~] Anyway, since that's outta the way, I've got a plan.
[He pauses, idly twirling the flower hidden from view, and grins as he pushes Chobo away from his back with his free hand.]
A cook off. We got any aspirin' chefs or something like that? I figure that with so many kinds of people from all round the galaxy or whatever there's a ton of different flavors, so it'd be fun! For everyone! Especially me, 'cause I'm gonna be judgin' it!
[Hell yeah. Free food. Free, delicious food. Mmmm. Yes. Just what one needs after a single's Valentine's Day where you got pity chocolate from your best friends.]
Any takers?

video
[so, like
are you in your right mind or
because she's kind of sure he wouldn't just... ask her out, would he?
...would he?]
video
[He says, as Chobo grabs the rose from behind his back and holds it into partial view with a triumphant chirrup.]
Re: video
ty chobo]
Why not go out with whoever gave you that rose?
no subject
...
Okay, he's good. Bad bird. Don't eat his rose.]
'Cause it's too lonely to go out with myself. I found it and figured you or Silver'd like it, so.
no subject
And did you suddenly get the bright idea to [-- okay, look, screw you she can't help but get embarrassed about it] -- to ask me out when you picked up that rose?
[Either this is a really good excuse to avoid going out romantically with him or this is a way of mother henning and worrying, like normal. Maybe both. SHE LIKES YOU, GOLD, SHE REALLY DOES.
SHE JUST ALSO DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO RESPOND TO SUDDEN ROMANTIC OUT OUTS. AND BEING CALLED CUTE WITHOUT HER FOOT IN YOUR FACE.
Give her a few days and she'll realize this was not the way of things and proceed to avoid your dumb face for the rest of her life, all right.]
no subject
Well, yeah, but... It ain't like I haven't been wantin' to since you talked about it everyone else. Why would y'wanna go out with anyone else when you got me and Silver?
no subject
[...she didn't think either of them would be interested in romantic outings with her, really.]
-- Besides, the circumstances behind that post were really, really dumb, and I wouldn't have wanted either of you to feel like I was just using your company so I could finish up Silver's task, though on second thought it might've not even counted towards that so I don't know if that'd be better or worse --
[Nope. Nope! She's shutting up. Nope.]
no subject
Aw, Silver can take care of Chobo while we're out and about, you know! She likes him batter anyway. I think it's 'cause of his hair.
[Yes, yes it is. Mama Silver.]
So, is it a yes or a no?
no subject
she covers her eyes with a hand. Yes? No?]
...Can we talk about this not over a public network? [Ask again later. She's like a magic eight ball today.]
no subject
Yeah, sure, no problem. Wanna meet somewhere or should I head back to your room?
no subject
[...because she'll be on the couch, trying to think things through.]
no subject
[Leave it all behind. Mostly because he has a few things to take care of first (like a movie with Silver).
But that also includes the rose, haha. Ha.
So he'll be waiting roseless and regretting the day at her door for a minute. Then he'll let himself in with a false confidence and an air of nothing's wrong at all. Even if he's nervous as heck now. Frick, what was he thinking?
And instead of talking, he'll try to sneak up on her laying on the couch and give her a good scare. Maybe that'll relax him.]
no subject
she lets out a long, slow breath. They're adults. They can talk about this like adults. Right?
Doesn't stop her from laying back down and putting her arm across her eyes again though.]
Hi to you, too.
no subject
Gold leans on the couch's back, trying to push away his queasy feelings, and strains a grin. Even if she can't see it.]
You ain't payin' attention to your surroundings anymore, huh. But I guess you've always been like that. Off job, anyway.
[Small talk to stall the suffering.]
no subject
Where's your rose? [...Some small talk. Relevant small talk.]
no subject
[Probably lying on the cold hard ground. Or in some unlucky soul's hands.
... How does he even bring it up. Well, he doesn't. Yeah?]
no subject
The bit about Silver's totally throwing her off though --]
It was just the rose, wasn't it. [Not a question!] That made you want to ask me out, I mean. I bet you would've done it to anyone who brought up going out with you or anything like that too, right?
no subject
[... He likes, probably. Or is close to. That's a good one, yeah.]
Just people that're important to me.
no subject
There's no one else she'd rather save the world with!]
I see. [Maybe they can get out of this without it being super embarrassing for everyone involved. Maybe!] Okay.
[......GOSH THAT WALL SURE IS INTERESTING --]
You, um... You said you'd been thinking about it since I mentioned it on the network. You haven't really been worrying about it that long, have you..?
no subject
Worryin' ain't the word for it. Thinkin' about it, though... [He trails off.] I guess I've been thinkin' about it like, on and off and all. No different than back home.
no subject
Back home?
Did he want to go out with her back home? Or ask her out or--
Nope that wall is the best thing in this room absolutely the most interesting and amazing piece.
She hopes she doesn't regret asking and hopes she hasn't been quiet for too long, but...]
What do you mean, "no different than back home"?
no subject
... Hanging out? [It's a hopeful answer, maybe she'll take it! Probably not! If only she'd been looking at him, she'd see his desperate, strained smile.]
no subject
We didn't get to hang out that often. [No, wait, that's not what she wanted to say. Hrrrgh. Why does this all make her feel so stupid.] Did you... Did you want to ask me out-out back home?
[And she won't kick him before he has the chance to answer. Promise. Her feet are getting pretty firmly tucked against her thighs, and she's even laying an arm over them to make sure. Ankle grips.]
no subject
Out-out, huh. Is that what we're gonna call it?
[He is stalling, so stalling. He should be more confident about this! It shouldn't be that big of a deal! It's just some gross feelings he's having anyway and has been for a few years and it's not like the Thing he's got for DJ Mary...
He groans and pokes her shoulder, eyes still the only part visible.]
It ain't like you would've said yes. I thought we could just spend time together here, and stuff. With Silver too. Since we're livin' near each other and... you know.
[Short answer: Yes.]
no subject
What makes you say that I wouldn't have?
[She just-- chances a glance over her shoulder. Wait, if he's going to be serious about talking about this, she needs to be serious about listening too. It takes some courage, but she turns around to face him; she sits up in the process and matches his pose. Not... not directly in front of him, but to the side. Though her cheek's against her arms, instead of hiding in them.]
