[Canada greets Saeng Seong from inside his apartment, 3-07 in building 2. He wanted to send out a message before settling in. He sits at a table as he sends out the video. A polar bear cub is sitting in the chair next to him and reaches across the table to steal meat from the sandwich Canada was going to eat. Muffled music plays in the background coming from a next door apartment.]

Hi everyone I just arrived here. My name is Matt and this is Kumajirou. [He gestures towards Kuma without looking away from the camera and doesn't notice his lunch is being eaten yet.] I just have a couple of questions.

Are any of you familiar with someone named Alfred? I was told he's here too but I haven't seen him yet. He might be going by his other name, America. [He pauses to look towards the wall, the neighbor's music still seeping in. Better check that later- it could be him considering. As if by magic, the music stops.]

I'm still really confused about where we are exactly. -Or why they took us. I'm having trouble believing that physical contact can generate energy or keep us from getting sick. Usually you avoid touching someone while they're sick so you don't get infected. What have you discovered so far about-

[The sound of a crash is heard in the background and Matthew jumps and turns to look at something off screen. It isn't seen on camera, but the door to his apartment has just been flung open and after the sound of rapid loud foot thumps another figure enters the video feed, tackling Matthew (and his chair) to the floor with a crash. Kumajirou takes advantage of this distraction and starts eating the rest of the sandwich.]

MATT! YOU'RE OKAY! YOU'RE NOT IN A TEST TUBE!

OUCH! ALFRED GET OFF! Of course I'm not in a test tube. What are you talking about?

[Canada pulls himself up, rearranges his chair, and gives the camera an embarrassed smile and America a less than happy sideways glance. America pulls up a seat next to him and leans in to get on camera too.]

Um. I found Alfred. But I'd still like to hear about this world or at least meet my fellow "visitors."

"Your bear demon is eating your lunch." If you have a weird-looking companion, in Shura's mind, it's a demon.

Canada turns just in time to see Kumajirou popping the last of the sandwich in his mouth.

"Kumaaaa! I was going to eat that- I haven't eaten at all since we arrived!" He half scolded, half whined at the bear.

America bursts out laughing. "Don't worry about it! I have plenty of food at my place!"

Looking back at the screen to reply to Shura, "Pretty sure Kumajirou is just a regular bear and not a freaky demon. Except that he's lived really long. And he hasn't gotten much older. And he talks sometimes... Huh." Now that you mention it... America turns and stares at Kumajirou in suspicion.

"A demon doesn't have to be freaky. It just has to be supernatural." Which apparently Kumajirou is, if this man is to be believed...

"Anyway. Welcome to the golden cage. It's good you have a friend already."

[blackhorse]

"As far as I know Kuma isn't a demon. He is a very special bear but," Canada pauses to look at his furry friend. He had assumed Kumajirou lived extra long because other nations had animal friends who had extended lifetimes but now that he thought about it the bear had talked the first time they met.

"K-Kumajirou! Are you a demon?" he has to ask.

The bear looked over at him and replied quietly, "I don't know."

Canada laughs and seems to wilt a little. Now he would be wondering for a while.

"Thanks for the welcome. What's your name?" he asks Shura.

[ Totally ignoring the rest of this entire broadcast, he's only focusing (although not necessarily on purpose) on the part that's relevant to what he knows. He knows America, so.. ]

Uh yes. Alfred and I are neighbors. Well. Technically we live a long ways apart but-

Yes! We know each other! [He flings a strong arm around Canada's shoulders and shakes him back and forth a little. All in good rough housing spirit.]

Canada here is one of my best friends and greatest allies! Isn't that right?

[ YOU SURE ARE ENTHUSIASTIC THERE, AMERICA.. but Josuke has no idea of what's weird and what isn't, so he just takes the enthusiasm like it's a natural thing. ]

That sounds great for you two then. If you are that close, it wouldn't good to be seperated.

Glad that you found him, Matt. Oh, and it's nice to finally meet you, America told me about you. [He recognizes him from a photo that America showed him once as well.] But 'fraid that the physical contact requirement is true here. Helped me from getting sick so far.

Oh. [What did America say about him? No Matt, don't get distracted now.]

It's true? Then we need it to survive.

But has anyone here actually confirmed that it generates energy like we were told. That's the reason they gave us for taking us from our homes. Best to confirm it eh?

[America remembers the conversation with Steve. Nothing to hide. However the existence of the photograph, especially the fact he carried it with him was a big secret. He pushed on the conversation. It was unlikely Steve would say anything right?]

Yeah uh Canada- er Matt, this is Private Steve Rogers from NY.

Aaaaand... You know I... I think it's been confirmed by the return of power to districts in the city but now that you mention it there could be room for doubt.

Think the only real evidence we got is the restoration of the district, as America mentioned. Guess they could be pulling our leg with that, but not sure how to confirm it either way...

I met him a little while ago and he told me about how really, really, really big he was! Did you know he's 900 times the size of Ulster? And that he's the second biggest country in the entire world?

Al why did you blurt out our other names so casually? You're confusing people!

I've been here the whole time Dude. You were here before too Matt- there were a bunch of us here but then they said they sent you and most of the others home!

[America looks back at the camera to Davesprite.] Did you ever bump into him the last time he was here in the city? You met Spain!

Kumajirou? Your companion there?

[he'd say it's better than having no one, if he was that kind of person. But America butts in anyway, and he slides his hands into his pockets, shifting his weight to one foot.]

Nah, didn't ever spot the actual person. Bit of a shame after seeing that photograph.
