2nd Brain Wave

"Hello everyone!"

[Wow, look at who has the brightest smile on today. M'gann even gives the video screen a cheerful wave as well.]

"So, I had a teammate- A really…Close teammate? Arrive a few weeks ago."

[Translation; 'I have a boyfriend and still don't know how to tell other people about it outside of blatant displays of affection and cuddling.']

"And I was just thinking, I should show him around the city. And I thought I could ask other people about places they've been to that they really like. And…Maybe people could talk about what they like or think makes for a good date? An Earth date, I mean!"

[Please don't mind the scowling boy behind her. Who seems to be mumbling something to the effect of,] "Why can't we just watch TV?"

[She gives a slow nod as she listens, considering the possibilities; all of which sound really appealing, judging by how her eyes flicker.]

"I...I like that idea. I like it a lot," [Would he like her hobbies as they are, though? M'gann isn't fully sure of that; there's meditation, the aforementioned cookies...And a whole lot of things she THINKS Earth girls might like.] "I just need to figure out something he might like...Cooking could be good? If I'm careful with it."

[And don't dump an entire recipe worth of ingredients on his head.]

[She beams, clasping her hands, very obviously pleased that her suggestion is well-received.]

Cooking is usually a pretty good one, honestly. Plus, it comes with the added bonus of delicious snacks for when you finish!

"Yeah, and...I can be more careful this time!"

[Though...Maybe she shouldn't leave open what happened last time? M'gann decides to rush in with a question of her own, before any curiosity about her last couple's cooking ~~disaster~~ venture can be raised.]

"What about you? Have you ever made anything for...Or with someone special?"

[Despite how well-intentioned the question probably is, and how she probably should have been expecting it, considering how flustered M'gann is... Cupid is still caught off guard by not just the question, but by the feelings it brings up to catch in her throat.]

I...

...before I came here, yes.

[But she tells herself not to dwell on it, instead working up another bright smile to cover her previous reaction.]

So trust me, it's pretty fun- and it usually works, so! I'm sure you two will be just fine!

"Okay...?"

[Did she just see that? M'gann gives the video screen a worried look, before shaking her head.]

"Thanks for the advice, by the way- Um, I'm sorry, i don't think I caught your name, even though we met, before."

[And they sang such a fun duet, too!]

Oh- I'm Cupid, pleased to meet you!

[She beams, nodding her head a little in greeting.]

Sorry- sometimes I get a little caught up in the romance thing and forget to introduce myself!

"It's okay, sometimes I get so occupied with the moment I just-"

[Such as now, as a clear case in point. She blinks over the name, wondering. Hadn't she heard something like that before, either from TV or from her friends?]

"Wait, Cupid like the...The love-person?"

[Not the best way to describe it, but she's close...Right?]

Seems like we have that in common, huh?

[She doesn't even bat an eyelash at the sudden halt, and just shrugs slightly and nods, smiling at the realization.]

God of love- that's my dad, but really it's more or less the same deal yeah!

"Wow, no wonder you know so much, then!"

[Saying that reminds M'gann that she paid a similar compliment to someone else. And she finds herself asking,]

"You...Have you met another girl around here, too?"

[M'gann shakes her head before clarifying; that really isn't enough description to go on.]

"Sort of tall, long hair on the dark colored side and sort of...Not quite Caucasian skin? She has a sort of similar association?"

Well, I'm still learning- but that kind of happens in this case, you know? Love is always changing.

[She thinks, for a brief moment, tapping a finger against her lips.]

Um... I think I might have? Our conversation was kind of... brief.

[She shrugs airily.]

But she seemed nice!

"She has a similar connection, from what she told me...Though she was talking a lot about 'Aphrodite.'"

[She puzzles with the pronunciation a little, even now.]

"And she is! She was also giving me some good advice, too."

[She'll just avoid mentioning that white skin color freak out, though.]

She's probably one of my aunts in... some world or another.

[Olympians man. Family tree's more complicated than Yggdrasil.]

Well that's good, at least- we're excellent advice-givers in my family.
