2nd Brain Wave

"Hello everyone!"

[Wow, look at who has the brightest smile on today. M'gann even gives the video screen a cheerful wave as well.]

"So, I had a teammate- A really…Close teammate? Arrive a few weeks ago."

[Translation; 'I have a boyfriend and still don't know how to tell other people about it outside of blatant displays of affection and cuddling.']

"And I was just thinking, I should show him around the city. And I thought I could ask other people about places they've been to that they really like. And…Maybe people could talk about what they like or think makes for a good date? An Earth date, I mean!"

[Please don't mind the scowling boy behind her. Who seems to be mumbling something to the effect of,] "Why can't we just watch TV?"

((OOC: Dual post, go! Responses will be coming from Conner and M'gann for this post!))

Okay, yeah, Observers are VERY nosy.

I have seen such things involve places called 'soda fountains,' 'Lover's Lanes,' 'drive-in movies,' 'discotheques,' and 'Makeout Points.' Often, consumption of food and the watching of cinematic entertainment is involved, and it appears as though the outing is not considered successful unless some kind of physical contact is achieved. I believe sports metaphors are employed to gauge how successful the couple's meeting was. Depending on the time period, the social ramifications of said contact vary from the admirable to the scandalous, though it is commonly held that kissing is the most desirable outcome.

Is this information useful?

[She does, indeed. He's the telepath who turned out to be human.]

[Unfortunately, all of his information comes from movies and television as well, though there is some actual people-watching in there, too.]

[Clinical, however, is just how he talks. About everything.]

That is fortunate. It is a very unclear subject.

[He'll grow on you. Or... something.]

It appears to at least be a little simpler in real life, from what I have seen. There is less... 'psychological warfare.'

[Then again, Olivia and Peter's relationship is... maybe not the best to base such conclusions on. Sure they don't go through nearly so many mindgames but most couples don't have to merge realities to be together, either....]

[She did, indeed, say it out loud. Fortunately, September's used to the concept of teammates and co-workers going after each other's psyches, albeit in a non-telepathic manner. Mind you, he has no personal experience with it, but he has seen it enough in his four years of stalking Observing a wee subdivision of the FBI. So, tl;dr, her comment really doesn't stir much notice of anything out of the ordinary.]

[He appears to think on it for a beat.] I am told that one's personal life should be an escape from one's professional life. [Said with the gravitas of one with absolutely zero experience to back it up.]
