touchscreens | (one) video / action???

Good afternoon. After spending a week here, I believe I've been growing accustomed to it well. Hopefully anyone listening to this feels the same.

It's likely that several to many of you have looked in to studying the history of this place. If so, you've surely come up as empty-handed as I have. Truly, this is a place with many secrets.

[Man, this kid may have the face of somebody in his mid teens, but the way he speaks is old, like someone who's stuck around for so long that they've come to terms with the world and are now at peace. It's hard to reconcile his young face with the way he carries himself. His personality seems more suited to his grey hair.]

Though it's a place with many novelties as well. By now, I have tried three different kinds of coffee, soda, and milk. Each. Although I wasn't able to learn what I intended to, what I have learned has been surprising. As expected of the Lilin, that they might modify milk in such interesting ways to further their satisfaction.

I'm also interested in the tradition of employment for monetary gain. Where I come from, such a market was unfeasible, but it looks like it might be important here. After all, when you want to provide for someone, you must put forth such effort. Besides, I'd like to buy a coffeemaker. I'll need to choose a vocation, perhaps, one different from what I did before I arrived.

My name, by the way, is Kaworu Nagisa. [Heads up, that w is silent! His smile stays the same, but it's almost given the impression of widening a little, because he tilts his head slightly.] I've said these things about my experiences in hopes that we might get to know each other. To know one another and seek comfort from one another is a good thing. Some people also prefer to know a person before they make meaningful physical contact with one another. [That's one of the things he's been learning! Even if it may take some time to really sink in.] So, this is a good opportunity, isn't it?

[And, seemingly satisfied with his introduction, he ceases the network feed. He's been hanging out at a terminal in the common area of Building 1, and he has six books with him: two on the astronomy of this world, two on the music of this world, and two which seem to be... self-help books?? By all means, gape at him.]

That is a good answer. To be in the middle of a working society is unlike anything else.

There are so many Lilin to watch and see here. This place is much more populated than where I came from. I look forward to watching them more and more.

How was the place you came from like?

Red, and dead, and tired. Unhappy. It is a place where the Lilin are scarce, at the brink of extinction... though they fight ceaselessly to advance toward their goals, as always, whatever those goals may be. Though, it has come to be that they are fighting each other. I thought I had found a solution to their pain, but... it seems their predicament has grown. The place I came from is rejecting them.

Post-third impact. [ he spoken to Mari. ]

And Shinji-kun?

And at the beginning of the Fourth. From speaking with Shikinami-san, it sounds that following my departure, Shinji-kun is... unwell.

Do you believe he won't be able to overcome it?

[A grim moment, but then he looks up with great resolve, as if he could project that resolve onto Shinji.]

I believe that he can, and I have hope that he will.

[ Kaworu nods softly ]

I believe the same. Shinji may be fragile and it may be difficult for him to realize it, but he can do it. He is much more than he believes himself to be.

He has everything he needs within himself to overcome anything that stands in his way. He needs only to find himself, and achieve peace for himself. And he is capable of that.

[A moment. Then, because a Kaworu will understand a Kaworu, he says,] His happiness is the only thing I want to achieve. I will try again if need be.

[ Kaworu nods gently. Of course he understands. ]

I'm glad.

How is Shinji-kun right now?

Hesitant, but adjusting. His time away from the weight of the Evangelion - from the weight of Angels - from the weight of his father... it is giving him a goodness.

[Pause.]

Shikinami thinks that he should stay here.

It's natural she thinks that. [ the Shinji she knows provoked two Impacts and nearly a fifth. Not only that, but Kaworu knows allowing Shinji to run away may be an option, but he still wonders if further ahead it's still the one Shinji desires. ]

It's not for her to decide, however. Shinji-kun must be the one to make the decision.

At this point, his desires are all that are important to me.

[He thinks again about what Asuka's said to him. And he asks - not out of worry or doubt, but for genuine want of an opinion - ] Do you think I have come to be wrong? [After all, by now, his desire to help the Lilin is born of Shinji's desire to help the Lilin. He would take his crusade for Shinji's happiness in any direction necessary; the betterment of mankind just happens to be that direction.]

I'm sorry, I can't give you an answer to that. Wrong and right is simply a point of view. What one may believe to be right, can be wrong in someone else's eyes.

And what I think, it's not what you think. While we may be, to a certain point, the same, we are different, still. You have lived differently and you have seen different things. The bonds you have created are no longer the same as mine, if they ever were.

[A moment to take this in— and Kaworu seems very at ease, relaxing into his full smile.]

That is a good answer. The only eyes that see the path I take are my own. The only one who can look through my eyes is me. What I do is what I will do, and only I can dictate that.

It was desirable insight. I will keep it close at hand.

Kaworu smiles and nods softly, that being his only answer. ]
