Ciao!~

I think I picked out the right ingredients to make pasta! I can help those that want to learn how cook now. If anyone else is interested I might be able to hold a small cooking lesson. [ That was being helpful right? And quite possibly make new friends! ]

Germany! If you see this I haven't gone to the bookstore yet. [ He completely forgot about it, too worried over picking the right vegetables. ] If you want to go still, we can. I didn't want to worry about the food spoiling while being in the bookstore. It'll give you time to see if they have any interesting books!

What else does everyone do around here?

Prepackaged noodles can be alright, but making your own sauce is better. You at least know what kind of ingredients are getting put into it.

[ It was a good idea! It seems that a few other people would be interested in something like a lesson. If they were going to be here for a while making friends was a good way to go. ]

Is there a lot of jobs around here?

That's true. When I read the labels on that ready made stuff from the store, I don't even know what half the ingredients are. Besides, it's better to know how to make lots of different things.

The beach shacks, district 3...I don't know about a LOT of jobs, but a good amount of the people here seem to be pretty okay with hiring otherworlders. I think it's mostly part-time stuff, though.

A job is a job and if we're going to be here for a long time, it may be a good job to get one, right? [ At least that made some sense to him, he could talk to a bunch of pretty girls and other people too. Not to mention he might be able to find out some other information from the locals too. ]

Having the right ingredients for any Italian food is better than not having it.

I guess you're right! I hadn't thought about it that way! ...But you really think we'll be here for that long?

[She had kind of been hoping they would solve the problem before too long and go home.]

Well, Grandma always did say it's better to have something and not need it then need it and not have it. I guess that applies to food, too.

I don't know. If there are people who have been here for a month already. Wouldn't you start thinking that we would be here long? Or would we be able to leave earlier?

[ When can they leave? Italy hadn't really thought of a question quite like that. He smiles, carefree, fully aware that he might be here longer than necessary. He was also here with some friends too. Did she have any too? ]

That's a good point! Your grandma is smart. We're not alone if we are all stuck here together. At least we'll be able to get to know each other and see if anything happens.

I...I guess you have a point...I've been here since June and I was kind of hoping it wouldn't take that long to fix this power thing. But I guess if it's taking this long, I shouldn't expect to go back anytime soon...

[Though she's been getting contact and meeting people through her job, she doesn't feel like she's made a lot of friends. It's not something she's ever been especially good at. Even when she's around so many people...she can't help but feel a little bit alone. But a ~~good girl~~ mature adult doesn't bother people! She's sure she can handle it and does her best to sound positive.]

You're right! Really getting to know each other is the best thing everyone can do here! ...Not that we really have a choice, but it can't be all bad, right? It could probably be worse, anyway.

From how often we have to touch each other it seems it takes a lot to power this place. I don't really know. Some people are guessing that it runs on magic?

[ He wasn't exactly sure what to think. Italy would rather just help everyone, provide a friendly hug if they were to ever need one. ]

It could be a lot worse! We should at least stick together and help each other out. If we do that, maybe we could leave from here faster?

M-Magic? Really? ...I guess when you really about it, it's like, not impossible. I can't really imagine how else it would work, anyway. And it really could be worse. We're probably lucky that they let us have apartments and stuff...

[After all, if a bunch of scientists can drag people from one universe to an entirely different one, anything is possible. Plus...he does make some good points.]

You're like, totally right! It's the same with any other kind of job, right? Like, um...[What's the phrase...?] "Lots of hands make the work faster!" Or something like that, right? Plus, everyone is pretty nice as far as I know, so helping eachother out isn't too hard. Besides if I have to be stuck in some weird other world...at least this one is pretty nice.

I'm still trying to understand the magic part. I know England can do magic but I'm not quite sure if it's real or just a scare tactic.

[ He does know working together means they could get stuff done faster. It meant that they would be able to get out of here at some point. ]

I would think so! This world is pretty nice. It's different from where I come from. It does have some strange fruits and vegetables too!

I don't really know if it's magic. I mean, I keep hearing people talk about scientists and stuff so...[Wait a second.] Did you say, um, England can do magic?

[She's already met "America" and come to some ~~bizarre~~ ~~totally wrong~~ conclusions about him. But there's an "England" now, too...? And he does magic?]

U-uh, y-yeah, me too! It's different where I'm from, too! The fruits and stuff are definitely pretty weird by my world's standards, but...most of the ones I've tried have been pretty good! I'm still trying to figure out which ones taste good together, though...

I believe so? You could always ask him! He can be a bit grumpy though. So be careful of that!

[ He thinks before adding. ] He may just need a hug!

Maybe I could ask. I don't know much about magic. I don't think it even exists where I come from. [She's still not even sure it exists here, but...well given the situation, she's starting to think anything is possible.] You might be right. Hugs do tend to be a pretty good moodlifter.

And I'm still having trouble remembering some of these vegetable names, but there's one that looks kind of like a carrot, but it's kind of green and has these tiny spots on it. I tried oven roasting it with this red peach-y looking one. It was SO good! It's kind of fun trying all these new fruits and veggies we don't have back home.

I don't know a lot about magic myself. Akihiko talked a bit about it. There has to be some others that might know more about how magic works and what it does. I'm not completely sure myself. Maybe ask about it to one of the locals? They probably wouldn't provide an answer but maybe a clue might happen?

Maybe I'll ask someone at work. Since I talk to them all the time anyway, maybe they'll be able to give me some answers. Just thinking that magic might be a real thing is kind of weird. It didn't even exist where I'm from.

[When she reads that next statement, she can't help but feel a little sheepish.]

I'm not sure if there's really anything to learn from me. I'm just kind of trying whatever, you know?
