[He's looked for Flora for a while now, but he hasn't seen any sign of her. No way to contact her, she's not in her room, in fact it's like she was never here at all.

He hopes that she was sent back. He was never her Luke to begin with - the real one was back home with the Professor. He would always be the copy of Luke that Mayfield made. But it hurt at lot more then he was expecting. He wanted to pretend a little while longer...

And then there was that part of him that didn't trust this place to actually send her home.]

Do we know for sure if you get sent back home once you "leave" this place? My friend went missing, and while I'd like to believe they sent her off back home, I can't really be sure if that's what they really did or if they're keeping her somewhere.

I mean, I hope that's what they did. She'd be happier there. But I just want to be sure...

[He's quiet for a little while before speaking again. He decides to ask a question that's been on his mind for a while.]

I also had another question - a hypothetical one, if you will. Say that you met someone who was like you in every way, from appearance to personality, except that they aren't actually the real you, but just a copy. How would you treat them, knowing that they aren't actually you?

...I guess so. I really hope sending her home was the only thing they did to her.

There's a younger version of me and another guy around, yeah. Both of them are gone now.

[The boy's wording gets a tilt of her head. Previously she'd been assuming either 'sent back' or the more likely 'died of withdrawal'...]

And no one had any kind of hostility towards them? Or did anyone else even know?

[It's pretty risky for him to ask questions like these, but he imagines people are going to find out that he's from Mayfield, and then find out what Mayfield really is, so it's important to see what he'll need to do to prepare for it.]

I don't know. For all I know they might be keeping her elsewhere instead of "sending her home".

A friend of mine disappeared, too. I hope they're just at home... Ion's too sickly to be here anyway.

[But on that note - it's really the second question that has Ember's attention, even if he has no idea how to go about answering it. Are replicas of replicas even possible?

He's visibly tapping his fingers against the terminal while he tries to get his thoughts in order.]

And for the other thing - bring a copy doesn't mean you aren't real. A copy of me, a copy of anyone - they're still a person.

[There's a certain determination in that. Don't you dare say he's not a people.]

I just wish I had definite proof of that. This place looks nice, but it'd be foolish to just assume that they're that nice.

["They're still a person", huh? That gives Luke a little bit of relief that if he's ever found out, that he's not going to be hunted down or anything like that. Well, at least not be this person anyway.]

Some people might not agree with that.

[He tries to not worry. He's got enough of a worry about one greenie - but he can't help wondering, about that Ion, from a world where he, apparently, didn't exist.]

Well, those people can kiss my ass.

[An annoyed huff - and that's when he notices the name attached to this post. The annoyance is gone in a flash - Ember's expression softens immediately, something almost fond on his face and a somewhat distracted look in his eyes.]

...In my world, there's another boy named Luke who would probably be better equipped to answer this question than I am.

[The bitterness in his tone quickly disappears. He sounds a little bit more his age this time.]

[He looks genuinely curious.]

What do you mean? What's this Luke from your world like?

I don't know the answer to that first one, but as for the second one? I'd treat them like I treat anyone else. I can see how that would be seriously weird though.

What if it was your best friend? And your friend had their own doppleganger. Would you still treat them the same?

Why wouldn't I? It's not their fault that they're the same person you knew. [ At least this much she has some experience with - Babs is most certainly not the Babs who trained her. ]

I don't know about your first question but I do hope they go back home.

[As much as he was glad his partner was here, he was never so much touchy feely except with a select few people.And maybe girls.]

As for the second...it doesn't matter if they are a copy or not. They're them and I don't see any reason why they should be treated differently.

...I would wish to know how and why they were created before interacting with them. I could not make a decision regarding them without that knowledge. [He doesn't totally like that answer, but it is the truth. He would be suspicious of another Mewtwo. Was this how Mew felt when they met?]
