[Akihiko is standing in front of a terminal, musing for a few minutes on what he wants to say to the others. After he makes up his mind, he touches the screen to access the network.]

Hey, everyone. Listen up!

You all know what we have to do. Being stubborn about it is just gonna get you killed, so don’t even bother wasting your time. We don’t have to hang off of each other all the time! Stick with your friends, or just go shake someone’s hand every once in a while. This energy problem affects everyone, and there’s no sense in making things worse.

[He’s not happy about being stuck in some foreign city either, completely cut off from home, but there’s a mission to complete here. The sooner they get it done and over with, the sooner they can all go back home. Right?]

So, c’mon, guys! [Akihiko lifts his arms and punches one fist into the opposite open palm, while maintaining a confident look on his face.] Let’s help each other out, okay?

They had to have let us keep our weapons for a reason. I’m pretty sure we’ll be expected to fight something at one point.

[ ... That's right. He does still have his weapons, doesn't he? ]

I guess you're right. I'll have to be ready, after all. I've never had to seek someone out to spar with before, though. We were always selected for matches by our commander.

Yeah. Hell, we all do. We’ll be stronger if we can fight as a team.

Well, you have a choice now! Have you met anyone here that you wanna spar against?

Not really. [ I didn't want to fight anymore. ] I'm used to being the oldest. Most of the people I've met are my seniors by a few years, at least.

[ Not that he's talked to a lot of people. ]

Oh, really? [Akihiko shrugs slightly.] Age isn’t that important, when it comes down to it. Your enemies aren’t gonna go any easier on ya. How old are you, anyway?

[ He makes a sour face. ]

I know that. My enemies have all been adults, so far. It's just what I'm used to when I practice.

... I think I'm fourteen.

Huh… I wonder who our enemies will be here. You don’t always have to practice, though. Do some fun things once in a while. It’ll take your mind off all of this.

[His eyes widen with surprise.] You think? Don’t you know when your birthday is?

Fun things... ah... [ What does he even find fun? He can't remember. It's been too long. He looks like he's thinking about it. ] I guess so.

I do, but I haven't thought about it in a long time. I haven't really kept track of how long it's been.

Don’t get me wrong – training’s definitely important. You can prioritize that and everything. But it’s also good to relax sometimes.

[He frowns a little, and wonders if he should press. Probably better not to.]

Well, it’s good info to have for stuff in the future. You probably won’t need it here, though.

I guess I'm just not sure what to do with myself, otherwise... I don't have the responsibilities I had before, here.

No, I probably won't. It doesn't matter much.
