[Akihiko is standing in front of a terminal, musing for a few minutes on what he wants to say to the others. After he makes up his mind, he touches the screen to access the network.]

Hey, everyone. Listen up!

You all know what we have to do. Being stubborn about it is just gonna get you killed, so don’t even bother wasting your time. We don’t have to hang off of each other all the time! Stick with your friends, or just go shake someone’s hand every once in a while. This energy problem affects everyone, and there’s no sense in making things worse.

[He’s not happy about being stuck in some foreign city either, completely cut off from home, but there’s a mission to complete here. The sooner they get it done and over with, the sooner they can all go back home. Right?]

So, c’mon, guys! [Akihiko lifts his arms and punches one fist into the opposite open palm, while maintaining a confident look on his face.] Let’s help each other out, okay?

Yeah, I figured as much. [So who wants an asskicking…] What about you?

I've been... careful.

[Although, she can't deny that she wanted to see how long she would last. Her body is more resilient than the average human's. It might take a while for her to truly feel the symptoms if she would forgo touching for a few days.]

Careful how? Avoiding people, or keeping your energy up?

[WHY ARE YOU PEOPLE BEING SO STUBBORN AUGH...]

I have been keeping my energy up as much as I can.

[It's okay, Aki. Mami's being good 8Db]

All right, that's good to hear. [He offers her a friendly smile.]

So, how're you settling into this place? Make any new friends yet?

[Mami behaves, unlike a certain other brunette...]

[She smiles back, relieved to see him relax a bit. He seems to be a bit on edge there.] Thank you. I do try my best.

I am doing pretty well, I think. I have met very kind people here who have become my friends.

Ah, my name is Mami Tomoe, by the way. [She manages a small bow to the camera.] It's a pleasure to meet you.

[He is, but he tries his best to cover it up, as usual. Internalizing problems is the way to go!]

No problem! And if you ever need help, well, that's what these things are for, right? [He taps on the side of the screen for emphasis.]

It's nice to meet ya! I'm Akihiko Sanada. [Being from the same culture, he also inclines his head in a slight bow. Mitsuru would be so proud of him for making good use of his manners.]

Hell, those people in-charge: I guess they knew what they were doing by bringing us here. If no one wanted to be in contact with each other, then they'd have more trouble with that energy crisis...

Oh, yes. [She nods.] I shall keep that in mind, Sanada-niisan.

I've had my doubts during the first days I arrived here but... nothing will be lost if we went along with what they need us to do.

[That address almost makes him choke up for a minute. He's reminded of his sister...

He shakes his head to clear that thought away, and nods in response.]

Yeah, we're helping ourselves and each other, really. It's almost too easy.

Have you seen how bad it can get? Do people really die from not touching each other?

[She notices the brief change in expression but decided not to comment on it yet. They were just starting to get acquainted, after all.]

I've only heard rumors but no one has died, I think.

I sure as hell hope not... I'll try my best to do what I can.

[But enough of the dreary stuff!]

Anyway, what do you do for fun here? Are you into any sports?

[Mami finds herself giggling at the question. It's been a while since she had thought of anything fun to do for girls her age.]

I like to bake. And I used to play tennis back home.

[Akihiko might guess shopping, from what he's seen of Yukari. But then there's also Fuuka with her computer, and Mitsuru... Well, she is a special case.]

Baking, huh? [He's always been interested in trying people's home cooking...] Sounds pretty cool!

Tennis? Really? My, uh... I mean, I know someone that played tennis back at school. Maybe you girls can play together?

Thank you, Sanada-niisan. You are free to try anything I make in the future, if you want.

Hmm... It has been a while since I last played. I hope she goes easy on me.

You're welcome, Tomoe. [Using her last name because they don't know each other well enough yet... And then his face lights up.] Really? Carbs are great for energy, so... sure!

I think she'd be willing to ease you into it! I can let her know, if you're interested. I'd offer myself, but I've never played before.

[One of Mami's favorite parts in baking is getting to share them with other people. It's a win-win for the two of them!]

Ah! I have spoken to her before. She was planning in organizing a game of tag when I last saw her on the network.

A game of tag? Really? [He grins a bit.] Did you play too?

I asked Arisato-neesan if I could join. She said I could.

That’s great! I’ll join too, whenever it is! [And he can run pretty fast, so prepare yourself!]

Wonderful. I hope Arisato-neesan would be thrilled that you will be joining the game as well.
