Hey, everybody? I found a little animal in the park yesterday. At least, I think he's an animal? He's got a leaf on his head, and um... well, here...

[She pauses and holds up the creature so everyone can see it. It makes a few cute noises at the camera before she lowers it back into her lap and mostly out of view.]

Anyway, can anybody tell me what he is? Or if he belongs to someone? Cause he kinda followed me home yesterday, but I don't wanna keep him if he's somebody's pet or something.

Hm...nothing from where I'm from, unfortunately. But...it looks like it's part plant too.

Either way, need help finding its owner?

[Sabine's got nothing to do after that party, and she likes to keep useful.]

Yeah it does, and that's the weirdest thing. I haven't seen anything else quite like it around.

And I kinda figured that's what this would do, since if the owner saw the message, I figured they'd speak up. Course, he doesn't have a collar or anything so maybe he doesn't belong to anybody. I just wanna make sure, ya know?

Then you can scratch it being native, I guess. If it's the only one around, it must belong to someone.

[A finger taps her chin, though, in thought.]

Unlesss....it was transported here like the rest of us.

Yeah I don't think it belongs here either. It just doesn't fit.

And there are some animals here that were brought here like that too. Like my chocobo, Salali, and the other chocobos in the city. And my friend Diarmuid's Pokemon, Lir. Maybe this little guy got brought here like that too, by accident.

Sure seems to be the case, all things considered.

[Her hands slightly wring, biting her lip.]

Think I could see it up close? I'm just...I've never seen anything like it.

[Curiosity wins this battle of self control, it seems.]

[Kit shrugs slightly.]

Sure, I don't see why not. Do you want me to bring it to your place, or do you want to come over here?

Don't worry, I can meet you. Probably best to leave it in the same place. It might get ansty if you carry it.

What's your location?

My apartment. I wasn't kidding when I said he followed me home. It's in building 2, number 2-16.

Gotcha. Give me a couple minutes, it's a building over from where I am so gotta make time for the workout.

[But she gives a two fingered salute, on her way over. Hopefully Wily-Kit isn't in a hurry for anything, because it takes about 5-10 minutes for her to eventually arrive.

Getting to 2-16, she takes off her helmet (it looks less intimidating that way, really) and knocks.]

[Kit isn't in a hurry, and as a matter of fact, the delay gives her enough time to have a couple other conversations, one of which lends some new insight into what the creature might be. When Sabine arrives and knocks on the door, it's only a moment or two til it opens.]

Hi, Sabine! C'mon in.

[Kit gestures for Sabine to follow her inside, then closes the door behind them once she enters. The little creature is on the sofa, peering curiously over the edge of a pillow at the newcomer.]

[There's a smile as the door opens, keeping her helmet tucked under her arm as she walks in. Her eyes may slightly drift to the walls, immediately thinking of some nice murals that would look goo--focus, Sabine.]

Thanks! It's a longer walk than I thought--but I could use the exercise.

[Her eyes turn towards the creature, immediately lighting up.]

Well hey there, little guy...

[There's already a few things on the walls, including some colorful drapes on the windows and a few posters. Though if Sabine asked, Kit would likely be intrigued by the idea of a mural or two. But yes, there were more interesting things to focus on at the moment.

The creature sits up a little more as Sabine greets it, making a few cute noises in reply.]

I was talking to my friend Diarmuid while you were on the way over here. He thinks he might might know what this little guy is.

[Don't you worry, Kit. She's certainly going to be asking for any artistic work pretty soon.

Cute creatures take priority, though. And it shows in the way she holds her hand out to stroke the leaf on the little thing's head]

Really? Then he might know how to take care of it!

Any idea on an owner?

[The creature chrrr's happily and leans into the pettings on its leaf. The leaf feels just like a regular plant leaf, though the rest of the creature's body feels just slightly fuzzy, like suede.]

He doesn't, but we know somebody who probably would. We think this little guy's a Pokemon, and there's a man in the city who's from the same world as them and knows a lot about them. His name's Professor Oak. I met him before and he's really nice, and so's his Pokemon, Dragonite.

Diarmuid has a Pokemon too, named Lir. But his and Professor Oak's are a lot different from this guy. There was somebody here who had a bigger Pokemon like this, but she's been gone for awhile now. We think this one might be its baby, though; it could've laid eggs before it and it's owner went home.

Hi Kit!

[Diarmuid waves at her.]

I think that is a Pokemon! Like Lir is only different!

[He giggles at how silly that statement sounds.]

Lady Crystal had a big one like him, but she has been gone a long time. I am not sure where he would have come from. Besides me, Professor Oak, and Mewtwo, I think all the people with Pokemon are gone...

A Pokemon?

[The creature makes a few vaguely affirmative sounding noises at that assertion, as if it can understand what Diarmuid is saying and agrees with him. Kit looks down at the creature briefly, wondering if it really did.]

Did hers have a leaf on his head too? And do you think I should take him to Professor Oak if he his one?

Yes! See, it agrees!

[They can understand, Kit. You aren't imagining it!]

Hers didn't have a leaf on its head, but it did have petals around its neck and...

[Diarmuid makes motions over the top of his head like antenna.]

I don't know that they are called. Feelers maybe? They were about in the place where the leaf is on yours, but the body is the same shape, only smaller!

Talking to Professor Oak would be a good idea. He can probably tell you all about it!

[Kit giggles.]

I guess he does.

[She listened to the description of the other lady's Pokemon, a thought occurring to her.]

I'll take it to Professor Oak later then. But I was thinking... do you think this one could be that one's baby?

[Diarmuid thinks about this for a while and then nods.]

It could be. A couple sets of Pokemon had eggs before they left when their owners did. Lir came from a set of water Pokemon. That one would have come from hers and another grass Pokemon. I don't know if any of the pairs had eggs again before the went away...

[It makes him sad to think that t here might be other little Pokemon out there just wondering around without anyone to look after them.]

Did you only see that one? No others? And no big spotted eggs?

This is the only one I saw, yeah. But the only reason I saw him was that he was out in the open, then started following me. It'd be pretty easy for little guys like him to hide in in the bushes if they wanted. And you could hide eggs there too, probly.

Think we should go check later, just to be sure?

[Diarmuid nods his head eagerly.]

Yes. Some Pokemon can't handle cold very well. We don't want them to get sick!

[He can't help but wonder if the Pokemon followed her because he is a grass type and was cold. Of course, it could just be that he was drawn to her because she is a good person.]

Maybe Professor Oak can help us. Dragonite could fly overhead and see if it sees anything!

[Nods]

OK. I've got somebody coming over who wanted to see him, but then we'll go see Professor Oak together, OK?

Okay! That will give me time to get Lir ready. He can come and meet your Pokemon!

[He pauses a moment in thought and then speaks again.]

Do you want me to come and meet you or do you want to come to my apartment when you are ready?

I'll come over there, if that's OK? I dunno how long Sabine's gonna be here. I mean, it probly won't be too long, but this way she won't feel like we were chasing her out so we could do something else.

[Sabine? Diarmuid doesn't know anyone by that name. He should change that if she is Kit's friend!]

Yes, we don't want to make her feel like that! I will wait for you here... Do you think Sabine might want to come with us? If she is interested in Pokemon, she should meet Professor Oak too!

I dunno. I'll ask her though. I bet she'd like to meet Dragonite, at least!

And Dragonite would like to meet her!

[Dragonite likes everyone. The dragon is so nice that way!]

[Oh, hey, it's that little fellow Krok liked. Spin's tired, but he manages to dredge up enough energy to worry a little.]

I don't think he can; he's too small. In fact I can't even tell if he has any teeth.

small things can eat big things just fine suppose it's harder without teeth though

Well, yeah, but there usually has to be more than one of the small thing for that to happen. Or the bigger thing has to stay still long enough to let themselves get eaten.

And if anything big or small tries to eat me, you can bet I'm not gonna be sitting still.

[Kit sounds rather dubious at the idea that the cute little creature she found might be poisonous.]

Wouldn't he need fangs or thorns or something to be poisonous?

nope i've seen poisonous things that threw spikes or made poisonous gas sometimes all they needed was you to touch them and then you're dead ... although they're usually like bright orange or yellow or something

[Still sounding rather dubious.]

Well, I know he's not poisonous just by touch, cause I handled him a lot and I'm fine.

He doesn't look like he can breathe poison gas either. And the closest thing he has to spikes are these little nubs around his neck, and they're not even sharp.

Yeah he doesn't really look like something that'd be poisonous. Usually poisonous animals make it really obvious that they are by having bright colors and stuff like you said.

i still think he's suspicious though be careful around him

[Kit rolls her eyes a bit, since she can't be seen. Clearly he's not gonna give up on this, so she just decides to go with it.]
