Soooo....

I know it's been a few months now and there's some really weird things going on in the city lately. But with all these people coming in, I'm kind of in a bind. See, I'm looking for some friends of mine that I got seperated from back home.

[She thought she'd be just fine trying to search for them alone, but... turns out it's not exactly that easy. Eiko wants to think she can handle these things herself, but. Maybe it really wouldn't be a bad idea to just ask.]

Their names are Zidane, Dagger, Vivi, Amarant... and, um... [What was that weird person's name again? The one who talks about eating?] Quina too, I think?

Anyway, let's just get to the point: I wanna know if anyone's seen Zidane! He's got blonde hair, has a tail, and he's super handsome and dreamy too! And he saved my life too... [She maaaaay be sounding a little bit excited here as she goes on, a small giggle escaping.] Okay, okay, I'll stop! The point is, if you see him, you better tell me right now or else! [Like right now. Eiko's not taking any late notices here.]

Aaaand if you see anyone else by the names I just mentioned, tell me! [It'd probably help if she gave descriptions of them too but... Eh. Witness Eiko's priorities, laid out for all to see.] They're my friends and it's really, really, like really important I find them, okay? So if you see them, you guys better let me know!

Hmm, all right. I'll keep an eye open for your friends. Is, uh. Zidane a special person to you?

[She knows that voice too!]

A special person... [Oh, you did not just ask that question. Now Eiko's all giggly as she hums a tune.] Weeeeelll, you could say that... He's just a really great person, you know? He's strong, he's handsome, he knows how to treat a lady... Well, okay, he can be clueless sometimes but point is, he's like one of my first friends ever. [From outside Madain Sari, anyway, but mere technicalities!] And he totally saved my life. Twice!

[See? Once you get her going, there's no stopping her.]

Tee-hee.. he's like a knight in shining armor! Does that answer your question?

[Dang that's just adorable. It sounds like to him that she has a big crush and it's cute as heck.]

Yeah I think that paints a specific picture for me. He sounds like a great guy. I hope you can meet up again with him soon!

What do your other friends look like?

Tee-hee... thanks! I hope so too.

[The absolute biggest crush. She's not subtle in the least; and in fact, it's probably not even a word in her dictionary when it comes to this. Probably much to Zidane's dismay for sure, if he were here.]

Well, let's see... There's Dagger! She's kind of like me, except she's older and doesn't have a horn like I do. So, she can call Eidolons, but she can't really talk to them like I can. Which is kind of weird. [Yes, Eiko, that totally makes sense to anyone else listening.] But she does have long hair, and she's really nice too!

[Even if they're rivals in love as well, but Eiko isn't one to hold that against someone.]

And Vivi, well, he's kind of shy, has these glowy eyes, and he wears a really really big pointy hat. He's around my age and he's good with magic too. ... Oh yeah, and he trips a lot. You can't miss him. [Wow, that's a mouthful. Give her a second to gather her thoughts there!]

Oh, so she has some similar abilities as you do. Interesting.

Sounds like they're hard to miss. What about Amarant and Quina? What are they like?

Amarant? [Oh boy, where to begin.] He's really big - like giant big – and he's got a big jerkish attitude to match too! And he's got this flaming red hair and some dumb nickname. [So, he's not really that much of a friend.] ... Well, whatever. Point is, he's totally rude and hasn't got any idea how to handle ladies!

[She may have only just met him before coming to Saeng Seong, but that kidnapping incident with his lackey was more than enough to leave a considerable impression. And by that, we mean less-than-favorable.]

And Quina's, well... kind of weird, I guess? I don't really know Quina that well, but I guess they were with Zidane too. Anyway, they look weird, talks kind of weird and talks about being hungry and cooking, all that stuff. That kind of weird. And s/he tried to eat one of my friends too. [For the short time she knew Quina, she really didn't have much of an impression beyond that.] ... But they helped me cook dinner for everyone, so I guess I owe them for that one.

This Amarant guy doesn't sound like much of a friend to me. [See, that much was obvious!] But, uh. I guess I'll tell you if I see him.

I guess it could be worse. I know some people that, um, eat some questionable... things. [Like dead people! But he's not about to hop into that subject with Eiko. A kid really doesn't need to hear about all of that.] Anyway, I promise to keep you in the loop if I see any of your friends, Eiko.

[Eiko, see rat lady. See rat lady with eyebrows flying up into the stratosphere.]

Did you say Zidane?

[Well, this is a surprise, to say the least. She has to take a moment to figure out what's going on. She's never met this girl, nor does she know Amarant, but...]

Dagger, Vivi and Quina as well... Then you're truly from Gaia? [The last part is quieter, like she's muttering to herself. She almost finds it hard to believe.]

Well, yeah, of course I did! Why else would I be--

[WAIT HOLD UP. Something's not right!]

Wait, did you say Zidane? You know him? [And Dagger, Vivi, Quina too?? Who is this lady, anyway?]

Yes, he is a good friend of mine. We met... I suppose it's been more than three years ago, now, in Lindblum. I was traveling with him and the others when I was brought here...

[Well. Traveling, sort of. It was a tough time.]

Uh-huh...

[HMM. Yeah, the main part that registered for the girl's head? "Traveling partners." "More than three years."]

So, you're really good friends with Zidane. Right. And you know Dagger and everybody else too? [Veeeery interesting. ... Hold it!] Wait, what's your name, anyway? Mine's Eiko.

[She smiles politely, some of her surprise and disbelief fading.]

Freya Crescent, of Burmecia. It's nice to meet you, Eiko.

I admit I only had a brief encounter with the princess before she left with her knight Steiner, but I do know them. The name Amarant is unfamiliar, however.

Burmecia? Never heard of it. [Then again, she's never heard of Lindblum either.] I'm from Madain Sari myself, 'case you're wondering.

[Hey, if we're going with formalities, she might as well. ... Even though there's hardly much left of her home, but still.]

Never met any Steiners. And Amarant... well, he's kind of a jerk - that much I can tell you. [Seriously, lady. You're not missing much.] Anyway, Zidane didn't mention anything to me about his other friends. So, now I'm curious. [If this were in person? This is when she'd be scooting right up to Freya, with that ever-so questioning tone.] You're saying you've known each other for some time now, huh?

[Just how many lady friends does he have anyhow??? Is she going to have to keep a tally here?]

[Interesting... so is this girl from the future? The fact that she's met Dagger but hasn't met Steiner or the dragon knight paints a strange picture. The girl's curiosity doesn't allow her to continue her thoughts, however.]

I suppose we must come from different lands, then; I've not heard of Madain Sari either. [Then does that mean she comes from a different continent? How did Zidane and the others reach it?

She pauses for a few moments, drifting into thought, before she realizes what she's doing and shakes her head at herself. No, come on Freya, don't get too carried away.]

... My apologies; I suppose this is a lot to take in. But I have known Zidane a while. I cannot say I have spent a great amount of time with him, however; no more than a few weeks, to be honest.

[Only four days had passed since she met Zidane recently in Lindblum. To think that so much happened in such a short period of time... Ah, but she's getting ahead of herself again.]

You haven't? ...Really? "Village of Summoners"? Ring any bells?

[Then again, she hasn't heard of any of those places Freya mentioned either. And Zidane did mention something about being from another continent.]

... Well, I guess it wouldn't. Especially not now. [She sighs. ... Wait, scratch that thought, there's more pressing matters at hand!]

--Wait, forget that, you're saying no more than a few weeks? That's not a long time at all! [... Just what kind of man is Zidane anyway??]

[She shakes her head no.] I'm afraid not.

I suppose it isn't, but I trust him as a close friend and a comrade nonetheless.

[She smiles slightly, not quite able to tell what Eiko's getting at.]

What about you, Eiko? How long have you known Zidane?

Only a few days.

[... Which isn't much better, but hey. She's making her moves. Or was, at least until she ended up in Saeng Seong.]

And we're close friends too! He even said so himself. [So there.] I helped him out with a few things, and now I'm traveling with him and everyone too. ... Well, I was anyway before I ended up here.

I see. [Eiko seems eager to impress and make new friends, and Freya certainly can't blame her. It's only natural for someone her age.]

What sorts of things were you helping him with? It sounds as if I have missed a few interesting stories.

Well, y'know, important summoner things. I guess Zidane's home had a problem with all that Mist back on his continent?

[Like really, important summoner things! There's a definite grin, like she's feeling proud. And she's honestly never seen Zidane's home, so she really wouldn't know what it's like there but she had to be of some help, right?]

… I dunno, I've never really seen it for myself. But anyway, we just went to the source of it and cleared it all out. So, thanks to my help, Zidane's continent is like all Mist-free now. [Or it should be anyway, if Zidane's assumptions are correct.]

[She's about to ask about summoner things when--

Her mouth gapes open slightly.]

The Mist... is gone?

[That was possible? Zidane and the others somehow found the source of it and... got rid of it? There are so many things that would result from that she doesn't know how else to respond.]

Yup.

[She says that matter-of-factly, as if it's the most basic task in the world. Unfortunately for Freya, Eiko doesn't quite realize the possible consequences of the Mist disappearing from the continent Zidane and co. are from.]

So now the Mist is all gone. [Beat.] ... That's a good thing, right?

I... suppose so.

[It's a long, loooong story.]

The Mist has been present on our continent for a thousand years... I simply cannot imagine what will happen now.

I'll keep a look out for you friends if you don't mind doing the same for me.

[He'll give her a friendly grin to let her know it'll be appreciated but not a requirement.]

And there's a list you can access at the terminals to look for peoples' names at least. Have you tried there?

Well, of course! But that's kind of hard when I don't have any names to go by, y'know.

[Her tone is half-teasing, half-pushy with a smile. Don't pay any mind to it - she actually doesn't mind helping.]

You can't seriously expect someone to keep checking those things day after day? [A forced sigh.] I'm more of someone who'd rather just ask around, personally. It's easier.

[Well, easier for her. Eiko doesn't necessarily have a strong tech background to her, but she can still figure out basic stuff. You know, after poking at it long enough until it starts doing useful things. Not to mention... checking the lists only to see no familiar names turn up each cycle would get really discouraging after a while for a girl her age. But she's not one to admit that out loud.]

That's true, but this city seems so enormous...

[Then again, he's new here so it might be as vast as it seems at the moment.]

Well, I can check it for the both of us. I'll let you know if I see your friend's names.

But isn't that the best part?

[Seriously. Maybe it's just her, but whole novelty of being in a real city still hasn't quite worn off for her yet. She's only spent most of her life in the ruins of her own hometown, after all.]

Also, I'm serious. If I'm keeping an eye out for your friends, it'll be hard if I don't know any of their names. Sooooo! [She puts her hands on her hips.] Let's start with yours. As for me? The name's Eiko, from Madain Sari. How about you?

Haha I haven't seen much of it yet so I can't say.

[Still it can't be all that bad. So far the people he's met have been rather nice.

He does laugh a bit sheepishly at that oversight on his part, inclining his head in greeting.]

There's a few... [Ah where to begin.] There's Tsuna, who looks pretty ordinary but isn't. Then there's Gokudera and he's a bit grouchy but hard to miss! There's also the little guy. He's pretty funny and he's dressed up in sharp clothes. And then there's...

[Really Eiko this could go on all day.]

Hmm. Nope. Never heard of them. But Blair has a tail! [The talking black cat turns to the side, wiggling her curly tail]

Oh, well. Thanks, because that helps!

[There's a small huff before she realizes--wait, this cat is talking. By itself. Without Eiko having to listen in with her horn, even? Almost immediately, her frustration is soon forgotten as she looks over the feed curiously.]

... Huh, you talk.

Meowha! Yup! What's the matter? Haven't you ever seen a talking cat before?

[Blair teased. She knew she was one of a kind, but she often brushed it off as casual.]

Well, yeah, but not one that I could talk to without having to listen through my horn...

[Eiko raises an eyebrow, crossing her arms.]

Though I guess that makes things easier too. [At this point, with giant robots and everything else? She's definitely seen weirder things.] So, anyway, what's your name? Blair? Mine's Eiko, in case you're wondering.

Hiya, Eiko. I don't usually talk to kids but I'll be sure to keep a lookout for that boyfriend of yours.~ [Blair winked. How many others out there had a tail anyway? It shouldn't be too hard to find him.]

Excuse me? Just who are you callin' a kid? You wanna start something?!

[Eiko huffs, staring at the video as she frowns! Just where does this cat lady get off calling her that? And technically Zidane wasn't exactly her boyfriend... yet, anyway, but that's not the point! ]

[Blair giggled and waved her paw, meaning she meant no offense.]

Nyaa, but that's what you are! It's okay.~ Size and shape don't matter, so neither does age! [Uh, sort of.]

Tell mew more about this cute guy. What sorta stuff does he like?

[Well there must be something to this girl if his Chocobos keep crowding the screen to get a look at her and nudging him to do the same...

Oh, she's looking for her friends. He opens up a feed in reply.]

I'm sorry, I have not seen them. I had arrived separated from my own allies, as well...

...Are you wearing a summoner's circlet?

[At first, Eiko's surprised this guy can tell she's a summoner. But she's got no clue what he means by "circlets". Removing her ribbon, she holds it out. Does he mean this?]

You mean my ribbon? ... I'm a summoner, but I'm not wearing any circlets. [So weird. Wait, those birds crowding behind him...!] Hey, aren't those chocobos you've got there?

A summoner? At your age?

[Considering theirs were among the most difficult of magical studies, it seemed unthinkable to find one so young; then again, she wouldn't be the first prodigy he'd met lately...

But his companions swiftly cut those thoughts off beneath their excitement. Almost as if in reply, the two birds happily chirp out a wark or two in greeting. Bot of them. ...That's odd; Persephone usually disliked new faces.]

That they are. The red is Persephone, and the yellow is named Boco. Then your homeland has chocobos as well?

Hi, Persephone! Hi, Boco!

[She waves to them both, smiling. It's too bad this is over video, else she'd totally try to communicate through her horn.]

And yeah, at my age. [What's wrong with that?] I mean, we're not officially summoners 'til our sixteenth birthday and all that, but I can still talk to Eidolons anytime I want. And of course we have chocobos! [Like, why wouldn't they have them?] Though I don't see a whole lot of them turning up near where I live.

[He sounds...well, the slightest bit incredulous. This despite meeting a woman with a lance whose features were rather unique indeed. But he shrugs soon after]

How would you gauge height and build on this guy?
