[Video] w/optional [Action] In Memorandum...
Hi everyone! I hope you are having a good day!
[Diarmuid waves excitedly at the screen for a moment, before having to move quickly to catch the strange little animal that starts to slide out of his lap.]
Sorry about that, Lir. I guess I waved too hard...
[The creature makes a soft burbling sound and blows a bubble at Diarmuid. The bubble bumps against the boy's nose and breaks causing him to giggle. He then turns his attention back to the terminal.]
Is there anyone here who remembers me talking about wanting to have a ceremony to celebrate all of our friends who have been sent away? I would like to have it next month by the river. There should be food and maybe even some activities, since the point is to have fun remembering our friends instead of being sad. At the end, I want to put candles out on the river floating in boats to send our wishes for our friends to them!
Will you guys help me out? Please? Lets do something nice for all the people who aren't here anymore! You don't need to have lost someone to come or help either. We're all friends here, right?
[Action]
[A few hours after making his request for help, Diarmuid can be found down by the river running up and down it looking for the best spot to have the ceremony--maybe 'festival' would be a better word--at. Lir bobs in the river following along with him the best he can. Every so often, Diarmuid stops and looks around, making gestures and talking to Lir as he tries to picture where everything will go if this is the place he picks.
He certainly won't mind if anyone stops to talk to him about the festival. After all, he's still trying to work everything out...]

[She's actually having fun sharing what she knows about cooking with Diarmuid. Then again, food is probably one of her favorite subjects.]
[Because he wants to try all the new foods. Every single one!]
Spaghetti is fun to say. Spaghetti. Spaghetti! I hope it is fun to eat too!
Spaghetti is kinda long and thin, while rice is like, a grain so it's all small and stuff. [She feels like her explanation is really lacking so far. She's never really had to put this much thought into what spaghetti and rice actually are.] By themselves, they're like, kinda bland and plain, but when you cook other things with them you can make lots of different stuff!
Spaghetti is kinda fun to eat, I guess. You get to twist it all around your fork and it's all long and noodley and stuff.
[Diarmuid balances Lir carefully and then puts his arms out and wiggles them like a pair of noodles...or at least what he thinks noodles would be like.]
The rice doesn't sound like as much fun.
[It actually sounds a little bit like something they have at home. Not exactly, but close enough.]
Can we try spaghetti first? What kind of things can you make it with?
Sure, we can try spaghetti first. Let's see...well, most people like to make spaghetti with tomato sauce and meatballs. Or you can stir fry it with vegetables and meat. Spaghetti salad, spaghetti casserole...there's an awful lot of stuff you can do with it.
And I guess rice really isn't as fun as spaghetti...but you can make just as much stuff out of it.
[Of course, he wants to try them all, but he knows they have to start with one at a time.]
There is so much food I want to try. So many different things I have never heard of before...
Thank you so much for helping me! You are wonderful!
[A tiny bit of pride swells up within her at his words of thanks. She can't help but grin.]
W-Well, I don't know about wonderful. I mean, if you like food, then of course you want to share what you know about cooking with other people, right? That way they can try lots of good food, too!
Sorry. I get excited! What kind of meat do you use? Answer that one first, please!
[The boy nods along with her next words.]
Yes! It is good to share that kind of information, but I don't know if I am good enough to teach anyone else how to cook yet. That is why I need help! I should practice more first!
[The only thing he would be good at teaching right now is probably how to burn soup and no one wants to know how to do that!]
[She claps her hands together and smiles.]
And...well, I think we could both use more practice. So, let's both practice and work really hard so we can share lots of totally awesome things with everyone! After all, Grandma always used to say that food tastes better when you're sharing it with other people.
[Diarmuid nods again excitedly and then his expression grows thoughtful.]
I am thinking about having the festival around the 25th of next month. That will give us a lot of time to practice and prepare. Does that sound okay to you?
[Just then something occurs to her.]
By the way, has anyone else talked to you about making food for the festival yet? If so, maybe we could all like, work together on it.
[Diarmuid has to stop and think for a moment, then he remembers what he is trying to think of.]
Luke lives in room 3-04 in Building 2 if you want to talk to him. He's really nice and helpful! He offered to help teach my brother and me too!
[She repeats it quietly to herself as she writes it down.]
Got it! Maybe I'll have to ask him if he can teach me some stuff, too...
[Diarmuid nods happily.]
He's new to the city. He will be glad to meet you!
[She's not bad herself, but she's not an expert either. If she can learn anything, it would only be good.]
Ah! By the way, where do you live? It'll be easier for us to practice together if I know where to find you. I'm in...[Something occurs to her just then.] Oh! I'm right across the hall from Luke, in 3-03! So you could even come over here if you wanted.
I don't think he's an expert. I just think he likes to learn and help others learn. He's really nice like that!
My brother and I live in room 2-05, Building 3. If you wanted me to come to one of your rooms, I don't mind. I just want to learn! My brother might come with me. Is that okay?
Yeah, that's like, totally okay! Like, the more the merrier, right? Just let me know so I can get everything ready. I bet we'll start getting better at cooking in no time!
[Diarmuid bows his head to her.]
Thank you so much for your help! This is going to be so much fun!
