Hi everyone! I hope you are having a good day!

[Diarmuid waves excitedly at the screen for a moment, before having to move quickly to catch the strange little animal that starts to slide out of his lap.]

Sorry about that, Lir. I guess I waved too hard...

[The creature makes a soft burbling sound and blows a bubble at Diarmuid. The bubble bumps against the boy's nose and breaks causing him to giggle. He then turns his attention back to the terminal.]

Is there anyone here who remembers me talking about wanting to have a ceremony to celebrate all of our friends who have been sent away? I would like to have it next month by the river. There should be food and maybe even some activities, since the point is to have fun remembering our friends instead of being sad. At the end, I want to put candles out on the river floating in boats to send our wishes for our friends to them!

Will you guys help me out? Please? Lets do something nice for all the people who aren't here anymore! You don't need to have lost someone to come or help either. We're all friends here, right?

[Action]

[A few hours after making his request for help, Diarmuid can be found down by the river running up and down it looking for the best spot to have the ceremony--maybe 'festival' would be a better word--at. Lir bobs in the river following along with him the best he can. Every so often, Diarmuid stops and looks around, making gestures and talking to Lir as he tries to picture where everything will go if this is the place he picks.

He certainly won't mind if anyone stops to talk to him about the festival. After all, he's still trying to work everything out...]

I've seen them! I've seen them!

[An excited look crosses Diarmuid's face.]

The chocobos live near where my brother's horse lives, and I watched a chocobo egg once for a friend. Is it fun to have one? Do they fly well? Amethyst is a pretty name!

[After that little rush of words, the boy seems to calm down some.]

Oh! It's good you know some about pokemon! Do you know someone with one?

It can be fun, yes, and Amethyst has learned how to fly quite well now. She often follows me around when I keep watch on the roofs.

[It is good to see his enthusiasm, but she's glad to see him calm down a bit, as well. Sometimes children can be a bit too energetic. She nods in response, though she tilts her head.]

His name is Red--he has several pokemon, including Pikachu and Charizard. I have not seen him in a little while, however...

She really is your partner then! That's really neat!

[Diarmuid claps happily, but when she mentions Red, his expression falls.]

I didn't know Red other than him being mentioned by the others. Crystal, Silver, and Gold I did know, but...they are all gone now. Including Red. I went looking for them to ask a question about Lir and none of their names are on their doors anymore...

[Thankfully, Professor Oak is still around to help with pokemon questions, but that doesn't change the fact that the people who were kind enough to give him his pokemon in the first place are now gone.]

[Freya reaches to put a hand on Diarmuid's shoulder to comfort him. She knows it must be difficult for him to know his friends are gone and most likely won't return, as it is for everyone.]

They are back home now where they belong, although we miss them. You said that we should celebrate the good things we experienced because of our missing friends, did you not?

Ah! Yes, I did. Thank you!

[Diarmuid gives her a wide smile.]

It's hard sometimes, especially when so many people leave so close together, but if I want other people to remember the happy times instead of the sad ones, I have to make sure to do it myself! That is what my festival is about, after all!

[She nods and smiles back.]

It is alright to be sad sometimes, but I agree that it is better to focus on the good things. So, what can I do to help with your festival?

[Diarmuid pumps a fist into the air and then gets a thoughtful look on his face.]

What are you the best at? There are all kinds of things I need help with. Setting things up, moving things, letting people know it's happening, food...

I can likely help with the setup and with anything you need moved, particularly if you would like to place something somewhere high.

[Her jumping skills can be handy even in mundane circumstances, and she's glad to use them if she can help.]

I can tell those I know about it as well, but I admit I do not know very many of us who were brought here anymore.

[Diarmuid giggles, jumping to emphasis how short he is.]

We can decorate the trees too with your help!

Tell whoever you can! That is all I ask. I might put up some posters too, but...

[He giggles again.]

That's alright; mine is not very legible either. I'm sure we can find someone who will help us make a few posters. In the meantime, I will tell those I know about it.

[She can always ask them to spread the word, too, and Diarmuid already posted it to the network. She's sure plenty will see it.]

What sorts of decorations do you think we should have?

[Diarmuid bows his head to her and then starts thinking about what kind of decorations they should have.]

Maybe some lanterns since it will run until after dark? Umm...

I'm not sure what all we should have. I've never done anything like this before. Flowers?

The city certainly has lanterns to spare. [It seems to be their motif, in the way bells are the Burmecians'...] I think flowers would be very appropriate.

[Freya pauses to think about what sorts of things festivals often have.] We might also find some banners to hang around the area. We should have lots of color, since it is a celebration.

Oh yes! Banners and streamers! Those would be good for the trees!

[He lifts a hand to tap at his chin.]

Not balloons, though. That might be too much. Some people may still be sad if the people they lost left recently.

[Not everyone celebrates partings with parties and Diarmuid doesn't want anyone to feel uncomfortable.]

[She nods, remembering seeing children holding balloons during the summer festival last year. Diarmuid seems very perceptive for being so young.]

I think you're right. We can keep it somewhat serious while still focusing on celebrating.

Thankfully those kinds of decorations should be easy to find. I recall seeing more than one flower shop in the marketplace, as well.

[Blame his father for that. Instead of just telling Diarmuid things, he actually asks him to think about them. Even at such a young age...]

Yes, there is a craft store in the 3rd District too! I can get a lot of things for making decorations there. Festivals require a lot of things. It's good I already have the candles for the wish-boats...

What kind of flowers should I get? Is there a specific kind they use for this type of thing?

I'm not certain. Many cultures have different flowers they like to use for different occasions. I'm sure that if you ask someone in the store and tell them your plans, they can tell you what they like to use here.

[She doubts that they have the exact types of flowers as her homeland, even if she was familiar with what was traditionally used for what.]

[Over in the river Lir trumpets his thanks as well, before blowing a stream of water into the air.]

Lir says thanks too! I will go shopping soon and I will make sure to stop by the flower shop to ask them what I should get. I hope flowers aren't too expensive...

[She smiles slightly and nods in response to his thanks.]

I'm not certain how much they cost, but I'd be glad to let you use my funds as well. I do not use all of what they give us, so I believe I have a bit saved up.

[Diarmuid makes a happy squeak at the offer and will try to hug Freya unless she stops him.]

You will really do that? Thank you so much! That will make things so much easier! I was worried about running out of money!

That will be how you help then! You can help me with the money and putting up the decorations. If I run out of money and need to go shopping, I will let you know, okay?

[Freya is always open to hugs, so she gladly puts her arms around Diarmuid in return.]

Of course; you're very welcome. I wouldn't want you to have no money left for yourself, when you're putting in so much effort for everyone else.

Room 2-02 in Building One or put a message on the Network! I will remember. I probably won't need help right away, but when it gets closer to the festival and I have to get all the food and stuff like that then I will probably need help.

[Because, he does need to save at least some money to buy supplies for the puppies and things like that. It wouldn't be fair to ask his brother to pay for it all.

Someone really needs to teach him to start thinking more about himself sometime...]

I will see if anyone I know might be willing to help as well, though I'm certain there are several people in the city who'd like to contribute.

[With that, the knight lets go of Diarmuid and gets to her feet.]
