1 [video] killed the radio star
[Sure, he's walking through the city today with Chobo, but he's also twirling a rose behind his back. For some reason, he just can't put it down. Though maybe he'd just give it to someone. Like Crys. Or Silver. Or something. Someone. Hell, even Chobo could eat it.
Not being a fan of chocolates or real sweet things in general, he's chocolate free.
Just.
A little more courageous than usual, maybe, though you can't tell it right off. Courageous enough to maybe, you know, ask someone out. Steady out. Out out. Dating. Life partners. Daycare couple.
Maybe.
Anyway, the important thing is that he's got something to proposeand someone to propose to and it's gonna be faaaaantastic and food filled. Pokégear, let's shine the spotlight! Man, it's still weird to use it like this!]
Hope everyone's lovey dovey day was cool, since for sad singles like myself it's just a cruel reminder of reality. [~Dramatic~] Anyway, since that's outta the way, I've got a plan.
[He pauses, idly twirling the flower hidden from view, and grins as he pushes Chobo away from his back with his free hand.]
A cook off. We got any aspirin' chefs or something like that? I figure that with so many kinds of people from all round the galaxy or whatever there's a ton of different flavors, so it'd be fun! For everyone! Especially me, 'cause I'm gonna be judgin' it!
[Hell yeah. Free food. Free, delicious food. Mmmm. Yes. Just what one needs after a single's Valentine's Day where you got pity chocolate from your best friends.]
Any takers?

You cool. Yooou cool. Hella cool. So cool.]
Of course! Whoever wins gets a date with me! Or I'll think of somethin' if enough are into the idea.
no subject
In a matter befitting his usual japes, of course.]
A date with you? And would that be carried on their coin and endeavor as well?
no subject
Please, birdboy, I'm a gentleman. [Yeah.] We'll split it even.
no subject
[Well, really, that much would be fair enough if not for the free food...]
Still, I would hope to see it myself. I've never had such talent for cooking, but to see the best fare of many dozen worlds... it would be quite a feast.
I only hope they'd have no want for their own world's ingredients...
no subject
I'm sure they'd be able to find something like it here! Unless it's like some kinda secret spice or something like that. [He pauses, then continues.] Are you bad at cookin' from birth or do you just not know?
no subject
[Such is life as a minor noble, after all; and even in his travels, he left his meals to that talented Chemist he'd recruited from his old military academy...]
And since then I've only come to grasp the basics. Have you any talent for it?
no subject
I'm great at it! I used to help out my mom with dinner and stuff back home, especially when I started gettin' older, so you could say I know a thing or two. Hell, I could even teach a birdboy like you to cook.
[Chobo ruffles her feathers and seems to be pretty impatient. She wants to keep waaalking. Quit talking to the yellow choboy and let's goooo.
But she has to agree Gold's food is pretty good shut up.]
no subject
I just might take up your offer. I could stand to at least learn a few dishes more.
[But Chobo soon pulls Ramza's attention away, and he even taps the screen to keep her interests.]
To speak of birds, yours looks to be growing well; would you have me fit her for a bridle and saddle? I am sure I could find a leatherworker for the task somewhere in Saeng Seong...
no subject
Okay, cool. Teach Ramza a few recipes. That's good in his book. Chobo turns back at the screen, drawn by Ramza's tapping, and Gold's pleased as a plum. Hell yeah she's growing well. Who do you think he is.]
Oh, sure, if you think she's ready and all. Until then, can I ride her without one? I'm pretty used to it since Exbo and Togebo don't need one.
[This is implying Chobo'll let Gold ride her. But she will. He's a cool guy. Who takes care of her. Works hard and doesn't mind her sass. She likes him well enough.]
no subject
[Not unless you have armor or some very, very thick pants. Big, stiff feathers and a bounding gait made it a considerably unpleasant experience otherwise...]
...and especially if she's not yet accustomed to having a rider. Perhaps I could at least loan you one of Boco or Persephone's bridles until she learns to take direction.
no subject
[She supposes so. The bird's happy at the mention of her parents at least, wanting to visit them now, and she steps off screen. Though every few seconds she'll try to tug Gold along by his sleeve.]
She seems ready to go! Give me a sec, girl, then we'll get goin'. You don't mind if we hop on over where you are and get started, do you?
no subject
[He'd say "Only know what you're getting into," but even if Gold knew full well, Ramza was certain he would not be swayed. ...If he didn't know already.]
...ah, 'tis nothing. I will see you there.
no subject
If y'say so. C'mon, Chobo!
[They'll be leaving the terminal and going to the barn then. Roseless too. Oh well.
Holla at him Ramza!]
no subject
He already has the bridle in hand and is checking the traps by the time he catches Gold's arrival out the corner of his eye with Chobo in tow.]
It's a bit big, but it will do for now. You've ridden before?
no subject
Not a one of these guys, but yeah. I rode Exbo - you remember him, yeah? - all the time back home. I've got pretty good balance.
no subject
[Boco's quick to show Chobo a little paternal affection with a nuzzle and a casual preening of her crest; Ramza takes the chance while she's preoccupied to carefully eyeball the straps and bit for a fit.
...Seemed close enough. As long as Boco had her attention, he beckoned Gold over as he held out the bridle in position.]
Fit her with it thus; you'll want her to grow accustomed to your doing it.
no subject
Naaah couldn't be that bad!]
Alright. Hey, girly, let's get you all nice and geared up!
[What??
Oh. You want to put that thing on her. Hm. Okay. Just don't be rough, you jerk. How's it work, anyway...
After quick look at Papa and a returned nuzzle, Chobo'll tug at the bridle experimentally. She's not totally zen when he tries to put it on her because it's new things, but at least she doesn't snap his fingers off. It's his first time too. So she's pretty much just kind of half regretting it and trying to move away at the same time he's trying to fix it.]
S'alright, Chobo-- There! See? You're a fine feathered friend if I've ever seen one. [It feels weird. She doesn't know if she likes it. But it's there. Gold looks proud of himself!]
no subject
But her fondness for Boco might make this next part a little easier. Ramza handed Gold some reins as he quickly fixed his own set onto Boco's bridle- at this point, more a formality than anything else- and quickly swung on over the saddle.]
Careful, now, and mind her feathers as you mount her. [Seriously, Gold, for the sake your rear end as much as her feathers. Boco was well-accustomed to taking a rider, but he kept an attentive and caring eye on his daughter for her first...]
no subject
Chobo watches Boco and how he let Ramza on so easily. And, because she wants to make her father proud, she tries - tries - not to let Gold's messier ascension bother her.
But honestly by the end of it she's a yard away and Gold's butt is on the ground, so. Chobo leans back to preen her uncomfortable feathers and squawk irritably at her caretaker. Anything Boco does will help honestly, even if Gold stands and pats his leg.]
Huh! Come on, Chobo, let's give it another try. We ain't gonna let birdboy and your pops beat us, right? [Gold's coaxing works her back over, and they're more successful on their second try and get it on their third. The teen's not sure if his butt hurts because of the falls or because of the feathers, but he gives Chobo an affectionate scratch on the top of her head as he looks over at Ramza.]
That's my girl. Alright, now what?
no subject
but Gold's persistence was admirable even so, and his efforts got him on the bird's back by his third try. Ramza lets out a sigh of relief once Gold manages to stay on longer than a few seconds. He was halfway to asking Boco to toss out a heal or two.]
It's not so different from leading her by the front... most would urge her to turn by a gentle pull of the reins, and a press from your heels if you'd have her sprint. [Almost for emphasis, a gentle pull on Boco's reins had him turn to face his daughter and her rider.]
But you know Chobo better far better than I... you alone would know how to lead her and have her heed it.
no subject
Cool. [Chobo feels a little weird too, since it's her first time, and just as she starts getting comfortable:] Wanna race?
[Squawk?! What. No. Hold up.
Wait yes.]
