002 ✗ video.
[ The second time around, these terminal things are a little easier to figure out. Zack still hasn't gotten the hang of their finer workings (see: anything other than Record and Send), but at least he's past the fifteen minute delay stage.
And he hasn't smashed anything - there's that. Technically, he's still in debt for the last computer he touched. But that's beside the point. ]
I didn't think it'd be this hard to find a decent weapon shop around here. They're usually front and center, y'know? [ Right next to the Items Shop and the Inn, generally. This is very basic city planning. ]
But I probably should've guessed. There's not exactly a lot around here to fight... [ Which is weird, and makes life a little boring - but it definitely isn't a bad thing. He shrugs, flashing the screen a lopsided smile. ] So what I'm saying is, if anybody out there's had better luck, I wouldn't mind a recommendation or two. I can't be the only one who wound up here unarmed, right?
Oh, yeah, and uh... [ He runs a hand down the back of his neck, looking around indecisively (as if that's doing anything to hide the faint hint of color climbing in his suddenly uncomfortable expression). ] If somebody wouldn't mind holding my hand for a while, I'd appreciate it, too. I kinda let that get away from me.

[Which really, she hasn't been needing much- or at all really, save for her sword drills.]
...And if you're that bad off, I guess I can help with the rest. If you really need it, I mean.
[ He can dream, okay. ]
I wouldn't mind sharing, but I have kind of specific taste in swords. [ Generally the huge, broad, two-handed type. He laughs a little (only distantly strained). ]
I don't think I'm as bad off as it gets, yet, either. I'll probably survive a little longer on my own, if it's an imposition.
[Severa can't make nice people feel bad... at least not when she's feeling as crummy as she is.]
Oh? How specific?
[Because now you have her curious- especially considering she'd seen Auron's sword a while back.]
--it's not. Not an imposition, I mean.
[Awkward girl is awkward.]
I'm not doing too hot at the moment myself, so...
[ Though he doesn't know if he really wants a close replica; he left that sword in good hands, and it was kind of important that he did. He wasn't planning then to ever need a weapon again, however. Which has complicated matters.
Among other, more obvious things. ]
...Yeah? I guess I don't feel as bad for forgetting, myself, in that case. [ A laugh, but not a very good joke. ] I mean, I consider it my duty to help out! If it helps both of us, that's even better.
[But she sighs and shakes her head, rolling her eyes a bit for emphasis.]
If it's something that huge, I'm afraid I can't help. My sword's a one-hander, sorry.
[But only a little. Because really who even needs a sword that big?]
It's not like I forgot on purpose just...
[All her friends from home are gone, and she hadn't realized how much help Inigo had been until it was too late.]
--look, point being I'll help if you want, okay?
[ Zack is, on the other hand, clearly amused - either by the comparison or the exasperation. ]
No problem. Mine was one of a kind. I didn't think I'd find anything like it right away. [ Or maybe ever, but he's holding out some hope. ]
I'll take you up on the help, though. I'm Zack, by the way.
[Shut up it's perfectly reasonable to be weirded out by absurdly large swords, okay?]
Well, maybe you'll get lucky and find a new one somewhere.
[Hopefully not one that big though.]
...I'm Severa. Nice to meet you, Zack.
[ Wow what do you have against perfectly reasonably massive swords, anyway??
Hopefully he finds one that is even bigger. ]
So, uh... Do you wanna meet somewhere?
[But she certainly wasn't talking looks-wise, so.
Also Zack no that's ridiculous that is too much sword.]
Yeah, um... Got any place in mind?
There is no such thing as too much sword. ]
How about that Beachside place? I'll buy dinner.
[Man, should she even bother changing out of her armor? What is even the etiquette for this kind of thing?!]
Meet you there in twenty?
Sure. I'll see you there.
[video] --> [action]?
[Excuse her while she spends ten of those twenty minutes freaking out a little before deciding to leave her sword and shield behind and making her way down to the beach, fingers working nervously through a pigtail.]
[action]
And to not fall all over himself from feeling weak and faint. ]
Hey! Severa, right? [ Hope you like 6'3" heavyweight super-soldiers because this is what you're going to be holding hands with ]
[action]
She tries not to show that she's surprised by his height though, letting go of her pigtail and flipping it lightly over her shoulder.]
Yeah- and you'd be Zack?
[action]
He has to make an effort not to shuffle his feet, because fidgeting is just going to make this look awkward, and he'd rather look confident (because this is already awkward). Instead, he offers her the hand that would've otherwise gone to the back of his neck in a self-conscious gesture. ]
Nice to meet you in person, too.
[action]
Yeah, nice to meet you.
[She hesitates in withdrawing her hand, loosening her grip a bit so he can let go if he wants, and then tilts her head at the restaurant.]
I don't think I've ever actually eaten in there- is it any good?
[action]
He takes note of her somewhat noncommittal grip, and lets his own fall a little slack, accordingly; she's been friendly enough, so far, but she also seems a bit jumpy about this whole thing. Even if he isn't, himself, he's got no intention of not giving her her hand back, the instant she decides she wants it. ]
Oh, sure, it's really top notch! You'll like it.
[action]
[She lets her hand rest in his loosely, sliding the fingers of her free hand through a pigtail. She inclines her head at him then, lips pursed slightly and blurts-]
You know, I didn't think you'd be so tall.
[action]
[ He grins sheepishly as he leads her over toward an empty table (the chairs already preemptively pulled around so that they won't have any trouble holding hands while seated - conveniently). ]
It's just in my blood. Most Gongagan men are tall.
[action]
[She tugs on her hair absently, strands coiling around her fingers in a nervous gesture. She gives the chairs a sort-of surprised look, but doesn't comment, instead settling down with a primness that is probably unexpected, considering her armor.]
Gongagan? I've never heard of any kingdom that sounds like that- I'd ask if it's near Chon'sin, but all things considered, you probably don't know where that is either.
[action]
Gongaga's just a little village. A few huts, a lot of dirt, and a big jungle - and a reactor, of course. Most people don't know it's there, to begin with.
Is, uh, Chon'sin where you're from?
[action]
[Severa's face immediately flares red- gotta love how much a blush shows when you're a redhead- and she ducks her head some.]
Though... reactor? What's that?
[A pause, and then she adds-]
No, I've only visited Chon'sin- I'm from the kingdom of Ylisse.
[action]
He shrugs, smiling a little at her renewed blush. If she keeps that up, she's going to be in danger of passing out from the head rush. ] Reactors are kind of our trademark, though, I guess. They're big ugly buildings full of pipes and gears, and somehow all that stuff refines mako into power the people can use.
It's all pretty high-tech stuff. [ Which means he has no real idea how it works. But that hardly seems necessary, now. ]
What's Ylisse like?
[action]
[Kingdoms are not silly, Zack they are v important ok.
--and don't worry she actually does that with enough frequency that she's pretty used to it.]
That sounds like kind of an awful thing to have in your village, honestly.
[But home is home, she supposes.]
It's a big country, with a lot of open countryside and a royal family that really goes out of their way to protect it. [Never let them know she said that.] It's a pretty great place.
