Mission 02 || Video
[He seems to be adjusting something as the screen comes on, but draws back while addressing the camera.]
Weeeell, looks like it's getting chilly out. Don't really think I'm looking forward to that, never really experienced winter on Earth, really. But I'm more in the mood to stave that off as much as possible, so I've got two priorities here.
Firstly? Warmer clothes. Where do I get some?
The next, something I've also never done before, bonfire party. Anybody up for that?
And especially you kids, Madoka, Dia, the rest. You guys up for it?
Hey. You holding up alright, kiddo?

[It seems that Duo is lucky today. Usually, Diarmuid doesn't use the Network because he barely knows how and not being able to read makes it hard to use any feature but the Video one. The only reason he knows how to use the Video at all is because Devin showed him how.
Of course, that doesn't explain why he's standing quite so close to the camera for the video feed. His excitement probably has more to do with that than how much he does or doesn't know about using a terminal.]
First! You can buy clothes in the third district! There are all kinds of shops there!
Second! Can we really have a bonfire? I don't know for sure, but I think it's close to Samhain now. Is that the holiday everyone is talking about?

Third district? Got it.
And hey, why not? I haven't read any thing about it and-- Samhain? You mean Halloween?
I guess! Never really done any of that myself.

[A curious look crosses his face.]
What does Hallo-ween celebrate? Samhain is celebrated when it starts getting colder and the harvests are all done. It's a time spirits and fairies move around more. It can be fun, but also dangerous. That is where the fires come in!

But ya know? End of the harvest? I'll celebrate that.

Maybe! I have found a lot of things here that are like things back home but different too. As long as we have fun and do what needs to be done, does it matter what the celebration is called?
I have been wanting to have a picnic for my friends to come to, but a bonfire would be fun. It doesn't matter what as long as everyone can get together. I could also introduce you to my friend because I know he would want to come to a bonfire!

[Sounds good to him!]
I guess you're from far in the past, Samhain becomes halloween eventually. Most things do, yah know? Of course you know that means you get to gorge on candy.
So, how do you celebrate the harvest, Dia?
no subject
That is a good idea! I will talk to my friends and see what they think. It would be even more fun to do both than just one!
[The boy's eyes grow strangely serious when Duo mentions gorging on candy, though.]
No, you can't eat too much candy! It's good, but it will make you sick. It made my friend sick and he gets really grumpy when he's sick!
[Not everyone warp spasms when they are angry, Diarmuid...]
To celebrate the harvest, we have bonfires and special meals. There is dancing and ceremonies too! That is why a bonfire is such a good idea.
