[Asuka - the eyepatch'd one - comes onto the screen... and looking none too good. Pale, bags under her eye and shivering despite a blanket and a heavy jacket. Yeah. Even her voice is hoarse:]

Anyone wondering about that side effects thing... well, it's pretty fucking confirmed. I'm about three weeks in; haven't touched anybody. Said I would a while ago; experiment.

Fever, headaches, sleep disruption... I think I'm starting to hallucinate. I'm calling it off.

They're not lying about that.

Yup. Gonna get the stitches out this week. Healed up pretty nice, actually.

That meeting of yours already happen?

[ha] Right. [she nods at the meeting question]

It did. Not a lot came out of it. Though it looks like our friends with supernatural abilities need to keep an eye out; something here's affecting them, probably the withdrawal symptoms. We've had one flier drop of the sky already; you see one, warn them before they get themselves hurt.

Take it easy with the injury, yeah? We don't know how being injured will play into this either.

Give him a minute to wrap his head around that and not think it's stupid. Once he seems to have done so sufficiently enough, he shakes his head and moves on.]

So they're taking away abilities even without dying? That's pretty scary for other people around here. Man. I'll let 'em know.

As far as I know, yeah. Snapped out of it right after he fired. We got picked up by some medics after we both blanked out. Then I woke up here.

But hey, Mihai's the toughest old guy around. If anyone can get through a rough spot, it's that guy.

Well, the sooner you two can get back in contact, right?

No kidding. But who knows how long that's gonna take, with this place. Maybe we can figure out how Berthein took over his brain in the first place. And mine, too.

[He shakes his head.] Anyway, it's over with now. [Aside from the nightmares.]

What I was gonna say before that, though--I'm bored. Like, bored as hell. There aren't even any bands here.

What, not being here? Beats me. The ones I know of are usually all underground. [HAH. UNDERGROUND. (It's a canon joke.)] Play around midnight in small bars and stuff. But there's not even any of that here. I can't find a job, my room is boring, and people outside are way too snuggly for me to hang around.

You find a way to keep yourself busy? I'm dying here.

...As for me, I just sit in my room, plot top-secret pipedreams against our captors and get increasingly ill all day.

Eh, not always! [Asuka what have you done] But, what can I say? People get jealous. Why wouldn't they, right?

And yeah, that pretty much sounds like everyone's agenda around here. It's so dull. This whole place is.

Been thinking of some ways to maybe shake the city up a little.
