[Everyone's interested in his death it seems. He's not complaining too much, as long as they're not trying to discuss what happened beforehand with him.]

Coming back was really odd.

[There's a small, ominous moment of silence before he talks again, a subtle anger can be heard in his voice.]

What were you doing with Prowl?

Honestly? The fact that you're still here, more than anything. Coming back from the dead is like...well, it belongs in a fairy tale.

[She sighs. It's weird, but she'll have to actually try asking the people here.]

But I do want to know your side of the story. Don't think it'll do any good to yell at you or something. Plenty of other people to do that.

[She doesn't want to be the one to make him snap again. She can't condone his actions, can't forgive them. But she's aware there seem to be a large number of people he can hurt with those techniques of his and she doesn't want to start another incident. If she gives him a place to explain himself, maybe it will keep him calmer. As far as she's concerned, he's an unstable war vet, not a cruel maniac working for some greater goal.]

But on the other hand.

[Chromedome knows full well that he's setting himself up for an endless torture.]

Not much to tell. I went crazy. Hurt people. Killed myself. And now I'm back. Oh, and I betrayed two people who loved me in the worst way possible. That last one's a kicker. And after all that, I had my needles taken away. I'm not a threat to anyone right now.

[The organics were never much in danger, since Chromedome doesn't consider any of them a threat. They're just organics after all. Squishy mortal things that only live for a few centuries at a time.]

Now all I want to do is earn back the respect of my friends. That's the Autobot way.

Right.

[Paranoia threatens to grip him, whispering that other things must have happened between them. That Prowl didn't want to tell him. But he reminds himself that he's seen Fulcrum's mind. He doesn't have it in him to hurt Prowl.]

You couldn't have hurt him if you tried. You just don't have it in you.

Oh. Lucky me.

So. When should we start?

[He sighs quietly.] Yeah. You're absolutely right. You would know that.

Look. I thought about it. I thought about hurting him, but I couldn't do it. Especially since he had nothing to do with the whole thing. When I saw how he looked when I told him what happened...

I felt awful.

[There's another silence. Everywhere he looks there's reminders of how he's hurt and betrayed the people he loves. Who love him. That isn't right.]

Ironically I put him in a coma to keep him out of danger.

He punched me, if that makes you feel any better. So did another Autobot.

Can we push it back another hour? I want to talk to Rewind first.

I figured that was the case. There... there were a lot of needle marks, you know. Is he okay otherwise?

I honestly don't know how I feel about that. You were already killed. I'm mad at you, but I don't want you in pain. Weirdly enough.

[She still doesn't really know the difference. The line is about as arbitrary as Earth nationalities would probably look to him.]

It's not as if he's totally off the hook in her eyes. She'll be a little wary for a long time. But she knows if you treat someone like a monster they'll act the part in frustration. She's no sociologist (she couldn't get a formal education anyway), but it doesn't take a genius to see it's part of why the stereotypes regarding her kind have endured instead of just fading out with the initial goblinization. He wants to repent. Why not give him a shot?]

Your memories were beautiful, but his were an entire galaxy altogether. He remembered all the times we were together. He let me in.

He's fine. Mnemosurgeons are always in more danger of dying while injecting, not the hosts. Most don't last longer than a couple of centuries.
